Auction house

Instead of auction house, a trading stall is better. Its still demand your presence in hideout, still have to invite people and visit hideout, but the difference is you don't have to go through the process of click request trade -> accept request trade -> mouse over to the items -> both parties accept the trade. It also enable you to sell multiple items at once, so you just need to invite people to your hideout and they can immediately do the transaction without "queuing" with other people, or a costumer loss because you are currently doing trade and you didn't invite him / her quick enough. This will be really helping people in trading maps, either to buy or sell.
poe4.0 will have one, or something in that same vein ; im pretty sure.

some type of currency exchange at least, i would assume.

*maybe even player owned shops in some kind of open world city ; that'd be juicy ;)

they will have to come up with juicy things to compete with the future diablo4 ;)

Only if you can browse them all in a single search. Like in an AH, say?

I love trading - but not in this game. I hate having to switch to a website to do it. I hate the million sellers that never reply. I hate having to leave my maps to make a sale. etc

Bottom line for a player like me, an automated trade service would add a new dimension to the game and make trading FUN. If you give a damn about progressing at a decent speed, trading is a necessity. Even if you just LIKE the act of trading like me, you'll have the itch to do it.

It sucks that it is so painful to actually do it.
Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.

You want it to be a one-click transaction? What is it you "love" about that, beside the income from selling and the power from buying?
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Your ignorance is pretty massive, to say the least.

I'm asking question in a search of being enlighted. Enlighten the poor, ignorant me. What do people "love" about trading?

i am old, my attention is not what it used tobe, and i am tired of getting scammed by new and more inventive scams during such a simple and necessary operation such as trading.

Scamming takes away enjoyment of PoE, and when PoE stops bringing joy - time to move on.

Yes, scamming is what will make me quit, i am affraid.

auction house would eliminate scamming during trading, as you will always get what you choose - no chance for an item to be switched in the trade window.

So tired of that bullshit and GGG's inability to deal with it.

I still remember how we used to trade back when, when both of you go to the Coast, drop your items at opposite ends and run towards each other to pick up the trade... now that was FUN (kidding ofc).

Beta PoE at least was changing CONSTANTLY, now it is the same old rut occupied by trade bots and scammers.

See... people wont even agree on what "the game" is.

For me, the game right now is 60% playing and 40% trying to get traders to reply. That is unsatisfying. I will likely quit again at this rate. The lack of an AH is ruining the game experience. Simple.

Everything else in this game is already devalued to squat. This is a game of slaughtering trash mobs, over and over again, just to get thousands of useless rares, and a few bits of currency. its crazy boring after 2 weeks anyways.

Crazy boring after 2 weeks? Your words. But sure, if it's boring after two weeks, let's make it boring after one by adding an AH.

Well for me, it is boring because of the amount of downtime I have dealing with this crap trade system.

There was someone who suggested a "market stall" idea where the items are fixed but users still need to accept the trade. Best of both worlds. But I am guessing not all trades can be done this way.
