can we please stop the power creep, already? (or better - reverse it)

Well, in GGG's defense, I love Labyrinth and it's traps. It's awesome level design and the reward is fair. I enjoyed the addition of whispeping/muttering/etc. pack of mobs + loot boxes that spawn monsters.

However, regular monsters and non-special-uber-extra-platinum-plus bosses need to go back to the gym. Poor things just evaporate...
All i know is everyone on rob's side is bad at the game anyways, except for rob who i will always consider a dear friend. The other 2 knock off players might as well not be talking.

Since I didn't immediately return after making a few points lets summarize with this; yes I totally want goats to be hard, that is the best. It'd be great for the game if dried lakes was like a place to farm again. Retro for lyfe bro.

Endgame is a trash fest of currency sink, 100 things need attention, and we want goats to be hard again...

There are coherent arguments as to why it's bad for the health of the game though:

It makes old content obsolete
It makes average level of game less difficult, dumbibg down
It makes choices matter less and be more of cosmetic nature
It makes the game more forgiving
It makes majority of gameplay more homogenous
It makes design space smaller
It makes environment in pve be irrelevant, most mobs might as well be balls of goo
It makes itemization like non-shaper or elder rares irrelevant
It makes crowd control irrelevant
It makes combat with non-boss mobs irrelevant
It makes positioning and targeting irrelevant
It blatantly encourages offense over defense
It encourages inflation of values for sake of inflation

There are a few more but this should be enough for now.

Yeah, some valid points there. It's a pity there is really no point for crowd control as a concept in PoE since it is easier just to oneshot those mobs. Also, all the cooldowns are a joke. You can spam the skills through crowds of mobs.

Second thing is, the game engine is quite laggy. You need top tier gaming rig to be able to play content with layer upon layer of effects. If monster skills actually mattered and they had some crowd control abilities themselves (despite all Diablo shortcomings, the concept of wallers/rotating laser beams was awesome, requiring manouvering on players part) and not being just cannon fodder would mean a step forward. Unfortunately you can't put such features in either at the moment due to oneshot issues. It's you oneshot them or you are being oneshotted.

The way loot drops is currently a perfect metaphor for the same problem in PoE: there's too much of it and most of it is completely irrelevant. It all serves only to stutter your machine until it is the ensuing lag that kills you, nothing else.

To be honest, after delve/incursion becomes part of the core game PoE might already be too laggy for me to play anymore, which is a shame. I do not have top tier eq and it's been getting worse with PoE so far these days.

Even pvp is too laggy to play those days :/
Poe Pvp experience

pvp had easily the worst loadspikes for my comp. and it wasn't even close.

pvp >>>>>>>>> harbingers >> unique non-boss monsters (invasion, exiles, beyond, etc) > anything else

It's kinda shameful these days, when i try to get some of my friends into the game and go like "watchout this bo... oh, he's dead, ehmm... anyway, once in 2014 he was difficult". Another my buddy only plays at the start till maps, because with any meaningful gear on he's getting bored of oneshoting everyone. I kinda like endgame difficulty in Delve and from guardians and higher, but acts and t1-t15 are just becoming chores if you are not going fully retarded builds.

I see people complaining about how the game became really casual etc.

This has been a thing since 2.2 ascendancy. GGG detected that players didn't like the nerfs done in 2.0 to some broken overpowered builds and haven't bothered nerfing stuff again without introducing some power creep. I mean the players show that they like power creep and easy content more so GGG delivers that.
If you really want to have the problems fixed GGG should go back to nerfing stuff hard and making enemies much stronger. Buffing life on all monsters in maps x6-8 along with more base damage on monsters would resemble more what the game used to be like. But that needs to be done alongside some nerfs to builds that are too strong.

However this isn't GGG's vision anymore they want to make an easy to play accessible game which is what they delivered in ascendancy.

whats the last time you got killed by blue/yellow leapers ? goats ? evangelists ? evangelists used to be dangerous as fuck to evasion builds in 1.0

note that these mobs being dangerous has nothing to do with what items youre wearing or what skills youre using

its the fact that you delete them so fast their mechanics are utterly useless and harmless, they might as well be rocks or goo, that constitutes power creep

you couldnt delete them so fast back in the day and they actually did shit to you.

You could skip past them with insane damage builds, but you would get killed by reflect.

You still had some stuff though like flameblast prolif which would bypass a lot of the reflect issues and still deal monsterous damage.

Very high damage back in 1.x would be ~30k and extremely high numbers were 100-200k+, which were very hard to attain and required specific setups. But now 100 mill DPS builds are possible.
