The first step is getting good. The rest falls into place after that. :D

Oh no I was doing perfectly fine up to that. But when I load into an area, get dc'd/logged out 2 seconds later, log back in, and im in standard? How does that even remotely relate to being good?

If you were hardcore, you would have re-rolled already and be back to level 50.
its one of those threads again I see

I've been playing hc off and on all day, rip free.
We tested it extensively
HAHAHAHAH, so this obviously had to turn in "standirt" vs "slowcore" arguement agan.

Fact: Hc players are in generally better than Sc players and also have better balanced, more well rounded builds that cant tackle more content without dying. Please try to disprove that.

The thing about hardcore is not that it's hard but moreso tedious in that youre constantly slowing yourself down, trying to be 4+ levels higher than the area, doing only maps that are super low risk, avoiding any random boss mods that are even mildly dangerous, always playing ultra tanky high life builds.

They should call it slowcore, not hardcore.

Ok guys. Just becuse you rip all the time in zergcore and can't play at a faster pace without ripping doesn't mean that everyone is like you. When I level Im regularly 3-4 levels under the content because I still get full experience and I start mapping at 62 consistently and I know plenty of people that do the same thing.

Also look at the ladders when new races start. HC people consistently progress and level faster than sc. Even 2-3 weeks later sc people haven't caught up to the much smaller hc population.

check 1mhc top 100
check 1msc top 100

I like my 5L pledge of hands. I'm never going to get one in a temp HC league. So I'll remain in standard. Its so much more fun that I can actually play the game and use all the gear I have in my stash!

I play perma HC actively too because I don't have enough time to play dedicatedly on the perma leagues. The trick is to accumulate more stuff before you die :)

Hardcore players are just mad that they cant get rich, flip, and rip people off in standirt.

Well true. In sc you guys are kings of ripping people off. "Trade 1-10" is an argument all of itself

just like sc :)

Unless you are doing mf runs there is no reason to do dom instead of maps.

I wonder what excuse everyone will use once desync is minimal after 2.0.

Well there's Mouse ball popped out, raccoon jumped on keyboard at critical moment, CPU burst into flames etc.

GGG needs to eliminate PEBKAC errors next!

Someday, I hope to have the patience and skill set to do that. I think knowing you can get back to act three merciless without much of a struggle would make HC a lot of fun.

Each time I venture into HC, it gives me more respect for the players that live and thrive there.

If the new stopstep or w/e it is works out like what I think it should as well as DEV's comment basically saying "impossible to desync" with it on, HC will be a lot more accessible and a lot less bullshit desync rips.
The real hardcore PoE players and the elites sit in town and zoning in and out of their hideouts trading items. Noobs that don't know how to play PoE correctly, kill monsters for items. It's pure fact, it will never change.
