It's currently an accepted playstyle that allows us to design bosses to be more interesting. If you're locked in to *absolutely having to kill it with no hope of escape* then it has to be an easier fight.
Yawn...
I've never read that quote. That's not even a good example of what we're talking about. They allow people to use a TP at any boss encounter. So they already allow possible escape without resorting to using other methods. Is there another quote somewhere?
If you think you can just TP out of a near-death situation...
Oh dear oh dear....

I play with altf4 in mind, which means I play more risky which equals more fun to me. I'd play differently if I knew I couldn't instalog (see the cutthroat races where this wasn't possible). Now why should I play as if altf4 doesn't exist? To prove something to some internet strangers? :)
How successful would you saying closing the application is in preventing death?
Mildly successful. There are many situations where altf4 will not save you. You also keep getting better at evaluating dangers so you don't use it that often. I'd say it's only really useful when mob pack RNG really bites you in the ass. You see the ridiculously overpowered pack and you gtfo. You have to be able to identify the threat though, else altf4 doesn't do shit :)
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

TPs wouldn't work well inside maps in parties, because the whole party shares the portal. So no, TP is not a sufficient argument.
I don't get what you mean. Could you explain it in a different way?
If I think I'm going to die against a map boss I can TP out of the map. Any of my team mates have the same option.

You get reduced instantly to 5% HP, if TP was up:
Okay, let's run to TP - oh shit, I'm dead.
If TP is not close:
Okay, let's open inventory, oh shit, I'm dead.

Imagine meeting a boss with AoE that does insane damage to people, then since people are usually at a distance away from each other, a problem will arise if both need to escape at the same time.
One example is Atziri in parties.

That's not what the quote just said. It says "If you're locked in to *absolutely having to kill it with no hope of escape* then it has to be an easier fight."
That means you walk into a room, the door locks and you either kill it or die. No escape.

Ah, I see now. Look above in regards to my response to that quote. I see how their design in this instance when handicap that.

You took it too far. You actually know that the negatives fairly out weight the positives in that situation. Exploration and making mistakes is natural. But to know the potential consequences, weight them strongly towards the negative and then do it anyways is just poor playing. How can you be "hardcore" and not accept the consequences of your mistakes. =]
Lol :)
You are acting like everything can be 100% predicted. Since you have problems defeating say Xandro, you will never open a strongbox that has a rogue exile in it?
Whatever, play how you think is "proper" and leave others do the same...

No
I'm literally (now) saying to you: play smart not stupid and accept the consequences of your actions and mistakes. Obviously if someone is progressing then they are taking risks. The examples you're giving make me feel like you don't want to accept the consequences of playing a HC but still want to play it. It's not like I haven't had a mid level 90s toon die in D2 for doing something stupid. But I realized the mistake immediately afterwards because the result was the lose of months of work.

Here's the kicker: If you manage to log out and not die you haven't made a fatal mistake :) Only when you die you've made the mistake and have to deal with the consequences.

I know, I know. I've mentioned repeatedly now that it's not acceptable action for me but I have no issue if someone else chooses to use it. But using an example like "Ya, I know if I do this I could die annnnddd it probably isn't worth it...but I'll do it anyway - YOLO"...just doesn't seem like a good reason TO use it.
