Why go melee when ranged does everything better?

I go melee because I like to run up to stuff and smash it in the face. No changes will stop me, ever. Muhahaha. :P

i must say i do agree.

i have two builds of basically the same concept, one ranged, one melee. the melee build has better stats in EVERY regard, except the range still outperforms it. go figure.


i dunno. only thing coming to my mind right now is, maybe all quivers should be removed from the game. another advantage ranged hold over melee is the ability to have a 2nd 6L. sure, you can get that as a 2Her, but try making that argument and keeping a straight face. you can't hold a candle to bows as a 2h anything.

there was the time where you would need to sacrifice something to use range, which just so happened to be BLOCK, which just so happened got nerfed all around.
i understand the nerf to acro, that absolutely was deserved and a well thought out application. but seeing the list of all the new gems has me scratching my head why they crippled build throughout the entire passive tree....just for a couple actual counter-attack things when you block.

well what if you're blocking a spell? will you take the animation of wherever you are to attack nothing there because you got hit from ranged, as melee?

Where are my taunt abilities for melee? It's so annoying when a pack of gulls split 5 different directions and you have to run a round for 2 minutes killing them 1 by 1!

They fix armor and they will fix melee. We all know by now armor sucks even Cloak of Flame is better than 20,000 armor let alone other options like LC, Evasion, COD, etc.

Armor needs huge phys mitigation buff.

Then there needs to be nodes inside melee tree like "for every 10,000 armor gain 1% max resistance) Like 3 of them spread out.

Then when you stack 30,000 armor you can get like 9% max resits too and be the super tank you deserve for playing melee and stacking armor.

Right now no point playing melee IMO.
