In two weeks PoE will have less STEAM players than at the end of last leagues
I've been playing RoS the past few weeks since it came out, but slowly coming back to PoE. No sense of accomplishment in that game at all.

" I dunno. The anti-SFL are always running full steam, even though a SFL wouldn't impact their game in the slightest. Then you have the people denying the Steam numbers, dismissing large portions of the playerbase as too casual to count, ad unable to contribute their own data to challenge it. And then there's people like Charan who make efforts for "street cred" but then runs back to Chris every chance in hopes he can get his mod job back. The way I see it there are two groups: the ones who love parts of the game, but want improvements, and the people who tell them to go away and play D3 because PoE is absolutely perfect in every way imaginable. Sounds like fanboys to me. |

" If someone is complaining about all the core concepts of the game. Yeah sure, I tell him to go look for a different game. Because sometimes a game is just not for you. I have seen enough post about how the community on the forum was bad and they don't want to play PoE anymore. So yeah, people who post only hateful unconstructive stuff should rather go away and stop poison the community. I haven't seen one 'fanboy' who thinks the game is perfect. Please show me at least one post. But I have seen enough 'haters' who complain about everything that is PoE, even the core aspects of the game that will simply not change and say the game is shit because of it or it will die even though there are enough people here who enjoy the game because of those same core aspects. And now I lost my train of thought. Maybe I will edit later. “Demons run when a good man goes to war"

" Challenge Excepted!... JK!!! To be honest GGG is in a tough position right now because they have two different target markets, the casual gamer and the hardcore gamer and usually making one happy will upset the other. So basically GGG can never win…but I have to say they do a pretty good job trying to accommodate both, the checkpoint addition is a great example, it helps beginner players while not really affecting veteran player that much. I hope you can do more of this in the future! I have a couple marketing and retention ideas for casual players. Retention I don’t think you have too much problem getting casual players to download the game you have a problem with keeping them playing. ---Problem--- Casual plays want instant gratification, tend to like doing a lot without putting too much time into it, poe is a little boring till you finish Act 2 Normal and starts to get really fun after Act 2 cruel. A lot of casual gamers will leave before it gets really good, most will not play past the first act because it is too slow for them. ---Solution--- The opening beach is cool but here is an idea, start the character as a high level for a tutorial (story could start as a dream, I was imagining a corrupted zone) kill a few mobs, get through tutorial and then wake up on the beach (after your first char this is skippable). So players can learn mechanics and see the potential fun. Players need to see and feel the progression of their character quicker, part of the problem is mana because you run out of mana too quickly so you can’t spam spells and skills enough. The beach needs a scarier monsters, super slow zombies and crabs are not scary, and zombie dogs or something else more exciting. Marketing You need a better trailer video, SoV trailer was cool but a new players seeing the player die over and over again too me discourages casual player as being too hard. You beta trailer was the coolest, I could not wait to fight Dominus, and he was not even in the content yet. The player need to be blowing enemies smashing hordes of monsters with blood flying everywhere. Now I know that some player are complaining about mechanic and balance issues, which I know there are some issues, but GGG can only do so much with a small staff, we need to bring more player , to increase revenue, to increase staff, to increase the rate of stuff being fixed. Also you need to start building hype about act 4….people may start playing again just for the excitement of another Act Anyway this is just my 2 cents Dernière édition par DaJoe85#7075, le 9 avr. 2014 à 13:33:41

I only recently started playing but keep thinking of a HYBRID league...
I am casual but would feel better playing in a HC league for the challenge.. So I was thinking of a league which is HC but with a lockout period if you die: So if you die you are locked out of your character for 7 days. I think this would solve a lot of problems like 1) If someone died just due to lag (fine.. waiting 7 days is legit) 2) You can play some other chars / races etc. in the meantime 3) Adds some challenge rather than instant respawn So true HC players would be more successful since they never die.. BUT, people aren't put off to try if they die a single time because of lag or desync once and can no longer play with buddies in HC. That's my thought, I only completed up to Merciless Act 2, so just early days. It's an awesome game, btw. Much prefer it to anything else on the market. Cheers, Handelx |

Ill be back when i get board of D3
Only reason y i am playing d3 at all is that a bud of mine wanted to play it with me and it was a good chance to practis my hardcore mode gameing before i start up a batch of POE hardcore characters. I will probley get back into poe ether when the cutthrot stuff happens ( trying to catch the races of it now ) and/or when the new ladders start ( think at this point i may skip this season ) But u never know may come back sooner depends on the itch. ;)= Just a sec let me grab a beer...@#*@ Ok how did I die this time
Learn the rules, it's the only way to exploit them. |
