In two weeks PoE will have less STEAM players than at the end of last leagues

I quit because the end game isn't that interesting. Everything is a bit too much on the extreme RNG side. Solo/Self found is hardly viable and trading a pain. Kinda unrewarding to play and kill monsters, better off sitting in town flipping. Economy holds more importance than fun.

I don't mean to hate on them, I think that they are awesome game developers but after a while of playing (over a year), it's just not that fun anymore.

Lol steamcharts.

Again.

Try harder.

Fine, lets forget about charts and maybe try and use our eyes and brain.

I have only played invasion last month so i ll only comment on that.

When Invasion started there were 40-50 trade channels active all the time with so many people.
Last 10 days in the morning you have 1 channel poorly active, barely moving and in the evening you have 2-3 channels active but most of them are same people and spam goes something like this:

a) WTS/WTB exalted orb - this will allways be the case
b) WTB Chance orbs - this is one of the signs game is broken, there is no way you get good unique, T1 unique unless you spam thousands of chance orbs
c) WTB Chisels - noone have enough chisels, and every 2-3 lines are chisels, chisels and chisels
d) few people spaming their shit uniques or rare items

So genious, what is your logic here?

That only people that were trading from start of the invasion stopped playing?

But that logic is flawed too, because people that trade in my opinion are more likely still playing then those that dont trade, cause without trading you will hit a wall and quit.

So i would really like to hear your logic

g) SotV is a very expert-level expansion. I felt the game needed more end-game content

You heard it here first, folks. City of Sarn is endgame content.

Well, actually you read it on reddit first.

That's funny where does it say sarn is end game in that sentence ? Maybe you have severe delusional dyslexia ?

Maybe you should play the game? Then you'd know that farming CoS is the extent of the end-game content introduced with this expansion for everyone who doesn't RMT.

People's obsession with whether games are "dying" is such a fascinating phenomenon. I'd like to write a paper on it some day.

I mean, I can understand people having issues with individual PoE leagues losing players. That makes progression in gear more difficult, particularly in Hardcore leagues.

People seem to be very passionate about the game. Even if it's tsundere pashion, it's still a good sign for GGG that people actually care a lot for their game.

Btw requesting a good English word for tsundere, I feel stupid using it outside of anime topics. Any suggestions, Charan?

tsundere is a relatively recent phenom and I avoid it, even though I've written extensively on one of its most known sources, Evangelion.

I don't believe we're looking at a tsundere situation here. For those unaware, tsundere is a Japanese portmanteau of 'tsun tsun' (to turn from something in disgust) and 'dere dere' (to be overly affectionate). So it basically means someone who's cold and unreceptive at first but gradually warms to something and eventually 'loves' it. The only reason you'd invoke tsundere here is because so many of these vociferous trolls seem to have a love/hate relationship with the game and with GGG.

But that's it. What's really happened is people initially love the game, because there's a lot to love, but as they play, more and more flaws reveal themselves. Unfortunately, the game is just good enough that they keep playing despite that. If it were just a bad game, they could move on. It's not. It's a lot more complicated than that. It's a potentially amazing game held back by a number of weaknesses, none of which I need to name here.

So what then happens is all that love and hope *very quickly* sours. Typically it's not that gradual, although some people take longer to hit that threshold than others. And when it sours, then the only recourse is to justify all that. It's not enough to just fall out of love with something, especially not when others still clearly love it. You have to seriously make a scene about it. Explore thoroughly all the shit things this game has done to you. Implicitly (or for some trolls, explicitly) talk about how the game has made you feel.

So it's not tsundere. It's just a sense of betrayal. And hurt. And disappointment.

How people react to that speaks very loudly to their character. They might not stalk and torment an ex in real life, because they know a) that's illegal and b) he or she has feelings, but they'll gladly do it on here if the ex is a game. Nevermind that real feelings went into making that game, into keeping it going. It's just a game.

Yeah, right.

How often do you see posts like this prefaced with 'I love this game but'? That tells you everything you need to know. Try starting a conversation with a loved one in real life with that line and see how well it turns out. It immediately says 'I love you but I don't love you enough to put up with' whatever follows.

Which is fine, but don't pretend it's not going to turn into a fight. And don't pretend you're not the antagonist.

I always thought tsundere was when they Act cold and like they don't like something but actually realy like it and let it show at rare occasions.

Out of valid points? Use the RMT excuse. (o_o)b

The most frustrating aspects of this game, namely the desync, shitty pvp, the stupid damage and bs one shot mechanics in merciless, and the worst of them all .... the fucked up economy, you need to either play 24/7 as trade sim or whoop out a credit card to have an endgame build.... yeah none of these have been worked on, instead they work around them or maybe bandaid them at best. Yeah all this hurts the game to the core, and meanwhile tons of better games are being released, nowadays its a competitive market and its wolf eats dog. I think that and the ridiculous mtx prices, who wants to support a game where a single mtx costs as much as a trip to the grocer? So now when the playerbase dwindles to nothing, let us see how the game survives with the little charans stil floating around. I think having countless <$1 donations would work out better in the end than a few $1000 ones, but evidently the devs dont think so because in closed beta some nutcases were willing to spend a grand or more in a single donation. Well guess what, it aint CB anymore and this game needs to step up to the plate or else it will get buried in the dust. Time will tell.
Man, if the forums are anything to go by PoE has been dying almost the entire time I've been playing. When will the suffering end!
We tested it extensively
