In two weeks PoE will have less STEAM players than at the end of last leagues

f) I don't believe that the difficulty of Invasion significantly affected the above graph. The average churned player was playing Standard or Ambush, because they're the most popular leagues. While Invasion may have been too difficult, we still want to keep a decent level of challenge in future hardcore leagues.

Thanks for taking the time to post, Chris.

With all due respect, and please correct me if I'm misinterpreting something here, shouldn't the bolded part be a cause for concern? If your most popular leagues are where the majority of player loss is occuring, shouldn't that raise a red flag?

If you have 10,000 people playing Standard, and 10% of them leave, that's 1,000 people lost.
If you have 1,000 people playing Hardcore, and 10% of the leave, that's 100 people lost.

More popular leagues lose more total people, even if the percent is the same.

Yeah, I get that. What I meant is that you can expect people (particularly those new to the game) to get frustrated with Invasion and drop out given its level of difficulty and the stated intent to kill players. But if people are dropping out of Ambush or standard at a similar proportion, that's an issue because it likely implies a frustration or dissatisfaction with the game beyond the Invasion mechanics.

Pretty sure they will not turn on the /online command just to appease some tin foil neck beards that can't take someone's word.

It's not a matter of opinion that the /online command was turned off right around the time the Steam numbers fell through the floor. That is a fact. How you interpret that fact is entirely up to you. I know how I interpret it.

The Steam statistics are likewise not a matter of opinion. They are simply numbers. How you interpret them, is again entirely up to you. I know how I interpret them.

Chris said nothing that contradicts the numbers. As I said, "a lot more" is a weasel word, and it can mean anything. It's a very common technique.

As mentioned, if all facts that can be independently verified point at one thing, and someone claims the opposite but provides no way of verification (or is even specific), then I believe what I can see. What I know.

/online was turned off because the servers were sharded. This happened a LONG time ago. Before they even had steam IIRC

You heard it here first, folks. City of Sarn is endgame content.

Well, actually you read it on reddit first.

It happened at the start of OB. Not sure when steam integration happened, but I feel like it was after that.

Steam integration happened at release. /online was turned off in December 2012.

Oh, and for your information, not everyone uses steam.

So, it's not accurate at all.

This is a great example of non-logic.

He's right, but because of the wrong reasons x) The ratio went from 50:50 to around 70:30, so there are some significant differences between both player bases, which means Steam is not an accurate representation of the whole base.
