Reduce Microtransactions costs
the prices are fine. there are enough cheaper options to chose from.
helm, pet and weapon effects come in different prices depending on how much of a difference it makes. |

i hope there will be a Christmas discount in all shop or part of it. Until now no real "Christmas events" like other games (f2p games too)

After playing the game for a few months I decided to go ahead and support the game by purchasing a Supporter Pack through Steam...
The points i spent on the game after that were for Premium Stash Tabs and very few cosmetics. I still have 100 or so points left over and now playing the waiting game to see which effects go on sale and for how much. I agree it's pricey but it's after you support that you get to choose which stuff you want to acquire. I do think 1100 is WAY too much for an electric scorpion pet but to each their own I guess. I bought the cheap ass Small Weta Pet for 5 points... there's enough cheap stuff in there to at least be nice to have. |

" I based this on the following source: http://www.playnomics.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Playnomics-Q1-Engagement-Report.pdf On Page 7 you can see that the top 20% of monetizers account for 90% of the total money spent and the top 1% account for almost a third of the total. Dunno if this applies to PoE, maybe you could call Chris and ask him :P GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

" Nah, you're wrong. I would say that typical mtx item costs around 100 points on average. It's 10 bucks. So if i want helm, weapon effect, trails and pet i'll have to spit 50 bucks. It's way WAY too much. I've spent 100 dollars on this game which was around 2-3x more on average that I'm spending with games in general, mind you, not that I'm sorry but what I've got out of points is really not that much. If your game is free and guy hands you over 100 bucks you should be far more grateful then several cool item effects. Other guys give full game and expansion for that. First grade game. Expensive prestige items should remain the same but points in ever increasing shop section should be 3x cheaper. If you are typicall player taht wants to extend his experience, nothing too fancy, just want to buy few stash tabs, few item effects, pet, trails etc it would cost you more then new call of duty. " I work for a developer and provider of freemium social games (not arcade, not casino, nothing like PoE), and our numbers are essentially the same (slightly less severe with approximately 20% of the customer base being responsible for 75-80% of the revenue). A friend of mine who co-owns a company that runs online casinos with virtual currency (Facebook, iOS) mentioned that their numbers are even more skewed (5%/90%) than Playnomics'. I think for GGG it may not be as extreme because the best-selling item is probably the stash tab bundle, which costs more than just a couple dollars and appeals to a mixed audience (and you reach the point of saturation after a few bundles). But no doubt that it's still a minority of players being responsible for a major chunk of revenue. Only GGG knows for sure, though! | |
I'm fine with the current prices. There is mtxs for all kind of budgets; 15 point effects to 1100 pets..

" I dont see them raising prices, but I have no idea how them raising or lowering drop rates in game would make any difference or bearing on what people buy with real money. 'It is good to contact a moderator if you feel someone is being a twat' Charan, Forum Moderator

If everyone listed leet gear in chaos instead of exalts in xyz, the price of exalts would probably go down.
Too many people want that gear, and there's not enough exalt sellers. So the few that there is take advantage and prices quickly begin rising. |
