I don't want to spend skill points :l
The tree is a little intimidating. It's extremely likely that I'll end up making a number of decisions I'll later regret.
How often can I respec and at what cost? |

That's why you make multiple builds and test things out, do some youtube research etc.

You get passive respec point for doing the quests, i am not sure how much, if you do all quests in all 3 difficulties it is somewhere between 16 - 21. You can also use orbs of regret to refund a single point; these orbs drop like any other item, you can also trade for them at the vendor or with other players.
There are no full respecs, and won't be, this has been suggested more times. The game encourages you to roll a new char if you mess up, it's not a big deal. |

" If your really set on daggers, my 2 cents would be to go for either a shadow or a witch. Starting with the shadow there are alot of dagger specific nodes close by to increase crit/damage, elemental damage nodes, and ofcourse CI if you really want to go thru that path. Dagger shadows are good fun, but they are alittle high risk high reward, with a lower survivability to say a claw shadow. |

You get respec points for doing quest (In total I believe you end up with 24 at max level), as well as respec orbs that are a rare drop and can be traded for. These points let you remove one skill from the tree and reallocate it.
And you're absolutely right, the current design makes you not want to spend your points. It's completely limiting and punishes severely for mistakes made in your early advancement when you did not fully understand your class. You're going to get hardcore players (i.e. those that have way too much time on their hands) telling you to just reroll the same class again if you made a mistake. In my opinion, these people are fools. There's definitely much to be said for making your decisions have weight, and limiting respecing, but there's nothing positive that comes from punishing players for choices they made when they didn't have a clue what they were doing. Most casual players will quit the game before they can be bothered to reroll the same class, and I honestly don't blame them. I really believe that there should be a ONE TIME full respec that each character receives. I feel that this is an acceptable middle ground to appease both casual and hardcore players alike.
