Why would a RMT company or an individual even use bots of any kind, when it's so much easier to simply play the market all day long? When you reach a certain threshold of in-game capital, you can generate more orbs out of "nowhere" (which of course means out of the work of actual poor/middle-class players you're trading with), just like in real life. If you think that any RMT company plays markets you are quite ill informed. The only thing they abuse is the buying/selling of currency for cash. A majority of the currency they get is produced by an army of bots they actually own (at least the extremely successful ones), there are very few companies that just re-sell currency as their only means of profitability.

No RMT company hires people to sit and flip currency, especially in this game with prices on items so volatile. Even the rate at which currency trade to one another is volatile and unsafe. That is one thing this game has going for it, that because of vendor recipes currency exchange rates can be manipulated.

I watch values of items because it interests me and I can assure you the value of items vs the $ has gone down over the past few months. And once the $ per transaction bottoms out RMT will either rise as a problem and inflation will happen within the game itself due to the low price of currency or drop out completely because it will not be worth the time to use this game opposed to others.

They are not a bank, this is not where one bank can take $200,000 and create $100,000 out of nowhere to lend to another person as assumed profit from the original sum. Their currency comes from somewhere. You can't sell an item for 20 exalts if there are not 20 exalts in the market to begin with.

If an individual were to play the market trying to flip currency in favorable rates they would not produce enough currency per transaction to warrant it as a job, or even a side income. Doing 40:1 for chaos to exalt trades would require you to make 7 of those trades (which are hard to come by) in order to produce 1 exalt "out of thin air" or 1 exalt net profit. Of course people try to do this but it is very ineffective overall especially if you aim to make $ off of it.


My prediction is that standard and hardcore will be left alone, and that RMT companies will shift to league only transactions. I don't see it being profitable enough for the time it takes per transaction to maintain doing so on these leagues. I see the next anarchy and next onslaught type leagues getting hit hard with RMT as there will actually be value in currency on them for the duration.

Please explain why we are clueless.

Don't make a blanket statement without giving a full description of why it is the biggest problem to this community.

As I see nothing has changed regarding the list.

Hopefully a senior dev will notice the thread and take appropriate action.

GGG still didn't take an action.

I can understand not being able to detect but at least do something when a list is given to you.

Only way to win with RMT is changing company business model to be less atractive for such sites to make money.
It involves changing game to p2w or total self found in games of mmo, ARPG generes.

Thus GGG would never change their business model to two mentioned before , poe is doomed to be RMTed to last cent.

Ps. Also making game p2p works well but only if game is expensive enough - like 1 acc 200€...

Ps2. This will never happen so either learn to be worse then donators OR leave the game and switch to something else.
( I took option 3* - dont give a fuck , but recent latency problems make it hard...)

Option 4:
Supporter Pack for 20K - Fund your own hacker to make RMT lose money!
Supporter Pack for 30K - Fund a hired goon to beat up an RMT boss.
