Lets discuss how easy it is to RMT in Path of Exile

This post will be about RMT companies, hopefully a member of our community will share similar in regards to player side of the coin.
First of all I want to state two acknowledged characteristics of RMT companies and their accounts. 1 - Their account names are always long and contains both alphanumeric characters and also special characters if it is possible. 2 - They work with multiple accounts. If you believe that after banning one of their accounts they can't continue to RMT, you're naive. Ok this was general knowledge, lets start. Now I believe that this was only a step towards creating the illusion of possibility of a RMT-free game in players minds. RMT companies are not stupid, besides they have way more experience in RMT stuff than GGG thus they came up with solutions long before GGG detects a possible way to harm them. So GGG bans the account if its their turn to be used for RMT if not, account wait for its turn to come giving RMT company chance to continue their trades without slightest of an interruption. The list contains 150 accounts so you should say that's a low number and they will run out of reserve accounts eventually but truth is I identified 3076 of these accounts, so this is only a small part. You should also keep in mind that the 3076 is number of accounts that I could identify, there should be even multiples of this number still undetected. Facts to consider on 2013-04-12, in 17 hour interval 526 RMT accounts created. " I really like Chris and also can understand why he got angry but after knowing these I couldn't help myself but agree with Magnicon2 about change only affecting normal playerbase. ------------------------------------------ Plot Twist ------------------------------------------- Above part was written yesterday, I was sad but also angry about these facts and was planning to directly accuse GGG for letting RMT continue its existence within their knowledge. (I guess a glimpse of this mindset could be found in the above part) After taking my time to read Chris' numerous posts it made me remember how nice a person Chris is and also Path of Exile is his child and probably he loves it even more than I do. So I'm convinced it is not that GGG doesn't want to end RMT, this is because of their incapability of either detecting or taking action which disappoints me. He doesn't quite seem to get that this isn't all RMT consists of, and not everyone who buys or sells orbs has some long nonsensical user name on a new account. I'm pretty sure Chris does get it and is working on it. @OP, straight up when I first got into this game I was convinced the business plan was to get donations from not being p2w, and to have their own RMT sites selling orbs, essentially allowing them the best of both worlds in terms of revenue. I'm in business, it just seemed so obvious and natural that it was pretty much a given. I've since had a few chats with Chris, and like you, I came to the conclusion that he simply loves the game too much to ruin it, or even risk ruining it by doing something like that. I think he is genuine about wanting to get rid of RMT, but it's just a really hard thing to tackle and will take a lot of time. I don't believe that GGG are in any way complicit with the RMT industry at this point, and I do believe they are sincere about trying to get it as far out of the game as possible. |

To be honest, almost all popular games have RMT and is pretty near impossible to get rid of without having to change the game features at the cost of the players convenient. I rather not have to deal with this.

" It is possibly naming and shaming. I would edit it out. I would send the list to GGG and suggest them to change their naming policy so they can easily ban suspicious accounts like this. With the current ToU I imagine they give that accounts the benefit of doubt until suspicious activity was explicitly detected.
