Also yes to the previous reply about chaos resist being fixed at zero in CB. You could even wear a Geofri's Crest to get to ~20% chaos resist.

Oddly enough, low-life was stronger at the start of OB than it ever was in CB since going from at most 20% chaos resist to 75% chaos resist was a huge boon.

In theory, perhaps, but exactly how would you get 75% Chaos Resist in Merciless? Here's the math:

75% CR + 60% CR Penalty = 135% CR total

And if you take all three CR nodes at the top of the Passive Tree:

135% CR - 32% CR = 103% CR total

This would have to come from gear (unless you only need four seconds worth from a flask). Let's be reasonable and estimate you'd need Chaos resist on at least five out of your eight pieces of armor and jewelry:

103% CR / 5 ~= 20% CR per item

Since this is for a low-life build, you'd want boosts to ES on your armor and jewelry as well. Searching Path of Exile Shops Indexer for items of all types currently offered with boosts to ES and 20% Chaos Resist or more, produced a total of 92 items. Since you'd need five of these items for your build, the trade market could currently support:

92 / 5 ~= 18 players

By comparison, searching for Shavronne's Wrappings produced a total of 34 items. Thus we can roughly estimate that current drop rates can support twice as many Shavronne's builds as 75% Chaos Resist low-life builds.

I really cant stand those "nerf this, nerf that" threads. it is like Diablo3. Oh too OP, nerf this! so I am feeling better. And if you'd the chance to get such an item: ohh buff it it is too low. Srsly guys, nerfing shouldnt be an option.

As someone already said, make another item, that apllies the effect, or the devolper should really change the base item of infernal mantle, so shavronnes can be chanced w/o any fears.

The secound thing about Shavronnes is, nobody wants to sell it unlinked, cause 5l6s-6l is even more profit.
If the Fusings and Jewellers get more chance for giving more links than destroy a link, it would solve a lot of problems imo.

And I dont really think they nerf Shavronnes. Why? Shavronnes is the most build enabler item in this game. Not even casters are build with shavronnes. What is with Elehit Dual totem, low-life melee, low-lifed bow etc?. And they shouldn't.

I can agree with that. I would totally wear a ring that provided "Chaos damage does not ignore energy shield" even if it had -10 max resist on it.

What is the new one priced at? I was thinking I might pick one up until I had some obscene chaos res.
