Rebirth your character! (prestige mode)
Not a bad idea, but the benefits would either have to be cosmetic or very small. If you REALLY wanted to do this the right way the "rebirth" feature only kicks in at level 99 and only gets you 1 additional skill point. You can then make it limitless rebirths (although that opens you up to liabilitys with exploits) OR cap it at say 3 or 5 rebirths. In a sense a character needs to get to level 99 over and over. Most players wont do that for just 1 skill point more...
But thats what the prestige is all about right?! or even just do 1x prestige with 1 more skill point and unlock a title or some cosmetic feature, or both! I think SOME type of player bonus is warranted but make it very small. This would also solve the "stat reallocation" since essentially you are rerolling a character, You could even let the "prestige" stat point come in the form of an orb and let players trade it if they want.. That would be a pretty cool idea... "Prestige Orb" LOL |

This idea is interesting, but what the OP proposed would be too unbalanced.
Scrap the guardian summon. Lets say that instead of level 80 and 10 skill points, you need to get to level 99 to be reborn and receive just 1 extra skill point. If you`ve leveled your character to 99, you probably have close to perfect gear and have used all of your skill points. There is little room for any more evolution here and you`re probably bored already. Starting at level 1 with a small bonus to incite the trade would be refreshing. Edit: Whoops, I didn`t read all of the posts when I wrote this one and the person above suggested the very same thing. :D Dernière édition par Mortal321#7625, le 18 juil. 2012 à 01:09:47

Used widely in Mu Online and it works. Very addictive way to keep people playing when they are competing on who has more rebirths. It also keeps people replaying earlier contents in the game instead of just repeating end game maps/areas.
Downside is new players will tend to be demoralised when they see people with multiple rebirths on the rankings which would take a humongous amount of time. |

and after 50 prestige respec's you realize that you should have put those stats/skill points somewhere else because the PvP for example is not that good with your current choices... here we go respecing a new char 50 times again.
i disagree. Dernière édition par Kasapnica#2414, le 30 juil. 2012 à 21:37:34

As has been said before, it will take years to get a single character to level 95. By the time you've built up a perfectly-geared 99 char there will be lots and lots of expansions. You won't have to worry about ending end-game content. That being said, you could also try different classes/builds.

There are a lot of balancing issues here, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth considering as an idea. Because the exp. curve is exponential, there actually is a right time to start over - going off gross estimation here (since I couldn't find an experience chart) if you did reset, by the (comparatively) short amount of time it takes you to level back up to 80, you'd be more powerful (theoretically) than a level 85 character, and each time through you get back up to equal power as quickly. After about 4 or 5 playthroughs your character is significantly stronger than anyone else trying to get up to level 100; although they've been farming high level gear longer, from a character power standpoint there are significantly diminished returns on all of their actions at that level. You'd be looking at an additional 40-50 stat points at a cost of 4 or 5 high levels. I think it's too much.
So what I'm trying to say is if you could reset your character, the math would have to show that it would not necessarily be a benefit to do it. Adding 10 skill points is WAY too much of a benefit. Also, you'd have to consider that eventually, people would just fill up the passives tree, and aside from some equipment choices, all prestige characters would look exactly the same. That's horribly boring. If you're going to reset, the bonus either needs to be cosmetic or minimal - increased light radius or a 1% permanent bonus to elemental resistances, something like either of those. You have to give players something without making it a mathematical given that you need to reset at level X. |

" While I feel the same way about how it's implemented in KRPGs, this is not the only way to do it. It'd be very possible to allow prestige classes to change the way the game is played... not make you necessarily more powerful. The point being to literally extend the content via new playstyle mechanisms that weren't possible with the original classes. The prestige class obtained could even be based on the keystones you chose as your primary class. If you have account problems please Email Support
