Enough With the D3 vs PoE Beta
Yup, PoE and D3 are rivals. The player base on average probably varies quite a bit but there are plenty of overlapping potential customers.

" I'm sorry but you are thinking a little too much. Rivals? Poe is not even close. |

Troll threads on the D3 forums are much more entertaining than here.

" This completely. PoE is catering to the hardcore ARPG crowd, and D3 is catering to the PvE/casual crowd. |

" Uh... what? No permanent skill choices, and a completely pathetic PvP system is NOT catering to the hardcore. If you want to act like "Inferno" is going to be hardcore, than "Hardcore" PvE I could agree with. D3 is not a hardcore game at all though. |

The ignoranc hurts my brain.
First of all how are permanent skill (passive) choices hardcore? You think it's hardcore to spend tedious hours creating a new character? Anyone can do that, and anyone can look up a good build. As for the PvP system, it's going to be the same as in D2, but much more improved, while keeping the fun factor. You have a weird definition of the term 'hardcore'. The PvP is NOT going to be the same in the slightest. It's an arena system where you queue up for "matches".
Hardcore would be if there was PvP in the game world, if you potentially lost your items, if dying by a player killed you permanently. Those are hardcore mechanics, not "let's have 3v3 battles in an arena with no risk, weeee!!!!" And having the ability to change out your skillset at any time, where everyone has the same exact skills unlocked, and where gear is the primary factor of who wins matches, are not hardcore either. Have you played any hardcore games? Diablo 3 was watered down to appeal to the masses, which lately has been a typical Blizzard move, and they made it cater to the casuals and carebears. That's why there's PoE though, to cater to those of us who want a hardcore ARPG. |
