Why Are Bows So Weak Now? (Phys build)

Now my current build isnt terrible, can solo a 66 map at level 69 without dying but I feel it takes way longer than it should because of my damage just isnt quite high enough.

Now here is my build

It scales well with the damage from frenzy and with all my stuff on my strength is 186 which is like 37% incresed physical damage. With 7 frenzy charges thats 70% increased physical so those two bonuses gives over 100% increased physical.

I know its not exactly calculated like that but I used a few respecs to test it out and with 7 frenzy charges up I lose about 400 dps taking iron grip off off

Physical damage builds will never reach acceptable DPS levels unless player takes critical nodes--critical strike chance and multiplier alike. The critical damage scaling makes critical hit multiplier the best mod to increase one's DPS.

Bear traps don't reflect damage?? I didn't know that!! I've been switching to Fire Trap every time I encounter Phys Reflect, cos I thought Bear Trap would reflect unto me and well..kill me.

Yea, it's really hard to get any weapon with high phys damage. I have found tons of great ele weapons, but even decent phys weapons are extremely rare. This is the highest phys damage roll I have ever found on a bow:

Physical builds can be competitive damage-wise with elemental but there are big drawbacks to them.
First of all, physical damage builds require huge passive points investment before they are completed. This is often done at the expense of survival nodes.

Secondly, physical builds in order to be even remotely competitive must invest into critical strikes & damage multiplier nodes. Same issues as above, you must heavily invest into critical strike nodes in order to be feasible, I intentionally avoid term "reliable" because even at 25% chance to score critical strike there are moments where I dont get critical strike for extended periods of time (4-5 seconds, which is a long time considering I have 2.2 APS).

Finally, reliance on critical strikes and more precisely critical damage multiplier to get DPS up is putting physical damage bow-user into grave danger. The mechanics of physical damage reflect and its interaction with armor is currently very unfriendly. I have to limit my damage output because 2 consecutive critical hits will kill me no matter how much life leech/hit I have on.

The issues are aplenty, some more pressing than others, however, I do understand that melee needs fixing urgently but once that is taken care of it is time to look at physical/elemental builds balance.
I went for fullphys in the tree. As AoE i use Iceshot (because it converts your physical) and I am doing 1,5k Dps (chain+lmp).

Singletarget is frenzy with 6k Dps.

My items: I consider them as avereage. Far away from decent and far away from good. Not even a 5l. Not even close to 6L....
I am happy with my build. With EB I run 5 Auras (Discipline, Anger, Wrath, Clarity and Hatred).

Drawback of this build: Surviveability, need more life on items.

Look how much elemental damage you have on everything though, we don't want to add in all the elemental auras and flat bonuses and increased elemental damage with weapon percents. we want pure physical no elemental.
