Chaos damage is OP
Many (most?) builds encounter some map mods than they can't play (Reflects, No Regen...) I don't think having a "Monsters are immune to Chaos damage" one would be completely out of place, giving this kind of build that apparently doesn't have a single drawback a minor one.
Why not just "X Resist to Chaos" like the elemental versions? Well, GGG stated many times they want Chaos to feel different, and imo it suits that Elemental (that is always facing resistances) have mods to face even more, and Chaos goes from "never fighting resistances" to "they are just immune", and keeps the feeling of Chaos being drastically different to Elemental (by being the only time of damage that can encounter immunity mod in maps). However, this is my point of view having the Chaos Conversion in mind. It would probably be unnecessarily harsh for actual chaos skills users. But maybe it should be considered. It sucks that all of a sudden your Chaos build can't do ALL kind of map mods? Well, many (most?) builds can't do ALL map mods. I think is the minimum that should be done. As alternative options I wouldn't mind if normal enemies resistance to chaos when from an average of 0% to an average of 35% (buffing pure Chaos damage skills accordingly if necessary) or if Chaos Damage wasn't allow to leech. Just suggestions to nerf the Chaos Meta while keeping it different to Elemental as GGG stated they want to (aka: not just adding Chaos Reflect, for example). (Take in mind I'm not an expert and I'm not saying GGG should apply all those measures, just giving ideas on how to nerf/balance Chaos damage while keeping it feeling different than just "another element"). Just remove shitty reflect and problem solved.
I feel like I'm forced to hold a fk'n bow instead of duel wielding Void Battery WANDS like I made my spell caster build for. But then I get insta-killed by a stupid beyond guy popping out of nowhere, or hitting somebody off screen and I just instantly die with no ability to react and hit my pots. It's one thing to have a chance to counter a one-shot and die because you didn't, but to not be able to counter a random, unknown 1-shot reflect is fucking retarded. Now I am forced to be a bow-toting spell caster just to still use my guy, so stupid this game is. |

As far as mapping goes, adding more mods that make chaos damage not as good just means you reroll them and move on just like you would reroll reflect or curse immune.

Chaos should be remade to deal 50% chaos / 50 % physical damage .
R.I.P 4.B.

I dont understand why chaos should be nerfed. It can just remain better.
It doesn't needa a "downside" either. Wtf. Chaos damage typically needs items to convert, or special abilities like caustic arrow. So it is supposed to be a rare dmg type not so easy to do but when you do it it's really good. Everything is fine. |

" Chaos Damage itself isn't op, for example ED and CA are chaos, but would you call them OP? Of course not. I wouldn't nerf chaos, I'd just remove reflect. It serves no purpose anymore, other than to push people into playing chaos. For example: why play ele of phys bow when you can play Voltaxic? There's no reason. Reflect is an outdated mechanic, it made sense in 2013 when all builds did terrible dps, and reflect was there to punish people who went full retard glass cannon. 177

Just give monsters that have reflect at least 75% chaos resistance and give some rogue exiles CI. In my opinion, the downside of not having to worry about reflect should be inferior clear speed, so the resistance should be tuned to ensure this.

" why does everything need to be a tradeoff? It can just have no downside at all. Make a chaos build if you like, otherwise you are very fine with the million other builds that are also out there, that'll crit for unbelievable numbers, or whatever the hell they all do. There is no need, to nerf anything. |

" The more I think about it I'm in agreement here. With the state of damage, potentially insane, reflect should just be removed. I can't say never, but I suspect I would never have went with voltaxic poison spark over cold/light spark if it werent for reflect. It just got to a point where I was doing so much damage, while having max resists and hp where I should, I would just get gibbed by a reflect mob from off screen. It was no fun and annoying as all hell.. so I bought a voltaxic. It was the same with an incenerate build I tried, reflect forced me into double consuming dark.. It didnt really feel like an option to me.. Dernière édition par Nevernoomi#0356, le 17 mai 2016 à 10:23:30
