Are there any other games which gate content behind RNG like PoE?
i dont understand this. back in d2, if you wanna farm uber diablo you have to sell your sojs, or if you want to farm uber tristram you have to farm for keys. (keys of desturction was pain in the ass to farm so most people just buy them from bots.) if you want to get the torch stats you want you will be farming them a lot.
so what does poe do for uber atziri different from d2 ubers? it's gated by RNG and i don't see people complain about it back then. i guess 'cause bots were running rampant so everything was just cheap to buy? In an economic-driven game, if players want GGG to increase the drop rates for uber fragments, they will have to change the drop rates for uber atzir's items by A LOT. It just becomes difficult to farm for the specific item you want, and you will just complain again. What's so uber about these uber atziri's items if everyone can just buy one poe.trade for cheap? That's why the system is designed this way, to be gated by RNG so not everyone can have it. Beacuse of this system, these items have a market value for what they are now. " yup, all games with random loot. wow borderlands diablo etc... the main prob in poe is the RNG is shit. because in diablo 2 when you kill a high lvl boss (baal/diablo) you always have some loots, in poe you can have deep shit even if you do very end game content (atziri, map lvl 81+) |

Archeage entire system revolves around (Im sure) the worst RNG system ever created, hands down the best/worst game ever made.
Break your weapons on the most expensive upgrades? Yes Bad Chances to upgrade 10% 20%.. failure = downgrade/broke gear Items needed to upgrade from mid tier to end game locked behind pay to win rng boxes? Yes Rare item rng truly gives the item name of RARE cuz it is rare... Items with less than 1% drop rate and in many cases you need these. (Haunted Chest, Black Pearls, Radiant trees etc) Did i mention it's pay to win??????????/ Many instances of players spending 700 dollars USD on the game to unlcok content behind rng box and many do not even get the 1 item they wanted, and 10 out of 10 times you lose gold value in the game by buying said boxes. Path of exile has nothing on RNGEEZUS compared to AA be glad you will never encounter that piece of shit. |

" dude, it's the same shit in every p2w games. every f2p with huge cash shop use upgrade on weapons who can break if you fail and you need a cash shop scroll to save your item. and obviously, the last upgrade have like 1% success chance. |

" Well.. ArcheAge is an MMO, not an ARPG, so comparing them with each other, is rather stupid. And ArcheAge was turned into an obvious Pay 2 Win cash-grab, nearly all Korean games are handled this way. You can't really compare these 2 games, they're not in the same cathegory and ArcheAge has P2W, whereas PoE has RNG-gated progression, making you feel bored of chaos-recipe spamming into several hours of non-stop trading, just to get a mediocore item, since anything good will cost too much. Can we please just face that PoE atm handle drops the worst way possible? Turn on loot filter, take a look at how much shit drop, and I'm talking normal 68-70 Maps where you just Transmute and Alt spam, it's actually depressing how much shit a loot filter will remove from your visual. Corean mmos and PoE share that trait wich consists in making people farm thousand of hours for eventual edge on other players in order to hide their lack of overall content.
That's the main weakness of that game. It doesn't have to be like that, there is no fatality. There are tools that GGG can use in order to make THE better game. They already handled desync, wich I think was impossible to fix due to beyond shitty game engine. LOL - VIP leagues - P2P content - more content, support packs generate well anyway => Those are things that may generate enough money to develop the needed content. + Procedural generation(P2P part), that can be justified through mapping. + Storyline developpement. BUT A4 felt really underwhelming to me, tons of straight lines, boss not as epic as these should, powercreep. + More horizontal and vertical progressions. => That are features that can justify a big nerf of the RNG part in the game.
