POE: a game of cheese?

Stupid thread is stupid

I could say something mean like L2P insted of watching krip test builds but i wont ...

Prepare for hundreds of threads like this when OB hits.
Just a sec let me grab a beer...@#*@ Ok how did I die this time

Learn the rules, it's the only way to exploit them.

i purposely kept individual skill out of the equation because once that comes in, say, when someone knows their build isn't the best but is really good with it, then your notion of cheese is completely thrown out the window.

It is my opinion that this will rarely if ever happen. The influence build has on the outcome of a match is too big, and the influence of skill is too small. But that's just how I see it.

Also, the game has likely already been broken. Every build they nerf is an example of that. Its still early days, of course, you can't expect the game to be balanced perfectly in beta. But with the size of that tree, balance will probably never come.

I've only heard of one specific build being nerfed and that was the one using Facebreaker, which was a while ago.

There may be other builds that have been nerfed, but I seriously doubt that the problem is endemic in this particular game as opposed to other games.

i disagree. PvP takes more micro-management skills and mousework than you think, not at all like PvE. but it seems strange that you are arguing this point, since you were the one who wanted me to add it into my calculations in the first place.

anyway, of course the game will never be balanced, but it is likely that the best and smartest players who put in the most effort and time will have the highest win rates. ie. not you.
there better be a LOT of cheese or the game won´t last for very long.
This isn't Starcraft 2.

Being the "best and smartest player" will involve rolling the best builds of the current time, and getting them as close to the cookie cutter template as possible. So yes, you are correct. That will never be me.

That's skill, deal with it. It's the same in mobas and probably in other types of games too.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

As opposing to what? D3 or WoW where classes are nerfed to the ground if there are enough players complaining?
It seems to me that you're asking for balance in a genre that is known and loved because of how imbalanced it is. It's one of the main reasons D3 failed.
Necro

In the past couple of days, after seeing a couple of popular builds, it seems that the ones that are the most potent, and output the most damage, also involve putting oneself in the least amount of danger.

At least in D3 the WW barb required that you be in the centre of a massive pack of mobs in order to do half decent damage. However in POE, the best builds involve attacking from range, or doing so much damage instantly that everything just falls.

No risk and massive rewards are going to make these builds the only options pretty soon.
