POE: a game of cheese?
" Lol, Dota isn't an early example of anything. I'm not sure whether my first experiences of cheesing would be the Mortal Combat low sweep kick infinite loop, or maybe even my old Goblin MTG deck would count. Either way, spamming minor exploits has been around way, way longer than mmos. Knowing where to look for the exploits and how to make the most of them before the devs see and nerf them is a skill of its own. |

" I did not infer that any play-style was either unique or difficult. What I inferred was that you probably need some practice playing the game and a better understanding of the core mechanics involved with path of exile. |

Yes, it's designed that way.
Notice in videos or diaries how Chris mentions phrases like "finding skill combinations to abuse" or creating low-level uniques "so players can feel overpowered" or wanting to "make players feel like they've broken the game." Discovering a powerful synergy and tweaking and maxing it out to a point where you're steamrolling mobs is one of the most fun rewards in ARPGs. Luckily GGG understand that and players are rewarded for finding "cheesy" strategies. |

Not everybody has the same opinion. Mine is that "Cheesing" is cheating and I don't do it. It isn't necessary by any means.
I have no respect for a supposed "Professional" who "Cheeses". Integrity is part of acting professionally and "Cheesing" rather than using planning and skill is a mockery. It is a choice, some choose to do it others do not. Thats fine, to each their own. However, please don't blame the game for your choice insead of accepting the responsibility for it. Try to be the person your dog thinks you are. Dernière édition par AlteraxPoe#3205, le 7 déc. 2012 à 08:02:07

Hybreds aren't the best decision for new players.
I have played Marauders, Witchs and Rangers and have no problem however I do focus on Resistances a lot. As far as cheese goes the Alt-F4 trick is the only cheese I have seen in this game the rest is just knowing which game mechanics are more usefull in certain situations. Fight censorship

" It won't last. The first build that gets nerfed will be a testament to this (its probably already happened). Being "overpowered by design" sounds appealing, but its tricky. How overpowered is too overpowered? If too many things are overpowered, doesn't that just mean that everything is averagely powered? If too few things are overpowered, doesn't that mean that they are effectively the only valid choices? And most importantly of all, the spec that is most overpowered, of all the overpowered specs, will inevitably be the most played. Massively so. Just look at the D3 WW barb. Within a week of it becoming publicly known, 90% of all players doing meaningful content were using the build. That completely invalidates the vast majority of game content, and makes the game extremely stale. " I'm not saying I don't like the game. I bought it exactly 7 days ago, and I have almost 30 hours played. The problem is that cheeseplay is not sustainable. If there are only so many ways to do things, then I will soon get bored of doing it that way. Dernière édition par Imbalanxd#0300, le 7 déc. 2012 à 09:08:36

" Yup. One of the BOTW, the Mike Tyson one. Chris was more than happy to show haw the player milked it to the extreme and clearly stated that it would be nerfed. Which happened a few days later. The core build is still very playable, but no longer able to One-Shot bosses and Uniques in Merciless. -- Providing opinions since I was old enough to tell my sister she was ugly. |
