The story-line, the artwork, the atmosphere and the gore in this game seem to indicate that it's intended for adults of all kinds. GGG's stance on "offensive" language and names, however, seem to indicate that the game is only intended for children that adhere to a set of Judeo-Christian values and narrow sense of morality.
I'm confused, which is it?

Pretty fucking sure you can use any fucking words you want, as long as you aren't directing it at someone in an offensive manner.

its called a double standard... they can do it.. you can't
edit: to answer your question, yes the game is apparently catered to children... I can pull out a GGG email stating that if needed
Well then they should really replace the titty-monsters with Plushy Unicorns and replace all the gore with Rainbow Confetti.

you clearly haven't read the ToS or w/e they call it here
I could have sworn a mod told me this, but if I check the ToS I do see:
"
Personal abuse, foul language, inappropriate subject matter, obscene, harassing, threatening, hateful, or discriminatory or defamatory remarks of any nature, as may be determined by Grinding Gear Games in its sole discretion, or Posts otherwise in contravention of any law or court order, are not permitted;

"Offensive" is highly subjective, and I can easily be more offensive with "non-offensive" words than I could by swearing, which is why the whole "offensive name" and "vulgarity" argument is ridiculous and short-sighted to begin with. Does anyone know where I can find an online game that doesn't demean the playerbase by treating them all like children?

If this is correct, then the content of the game itself is violating its own ToS. Double standard, indeed!

If you are directing foul language at a person, its not subjective at all.
if I say "Fuck you" that is offensive to you.
If i say "fuck, that monster was tough" that is not offensive to you.

I'm not offended by it... every single word was correctly spelled and used with grammatical precision.
