You would be completely comfortable telling that to your new boss or your girlfriends parents that you are meeting for the first time (just examples) while not knowing anything about their beliefs and humor?

Well, i don't think your character name is the main problem here...

I'm not a child. I'm not scared to discuss my severely anti-religious views with anyone. They'll find out sooner or later. My character name isn't the main problem at all, the main problem is that people wrap their identities up in fairy tales and then think negatively of those who don't follow suit.

That "test" is stupid. If you were surrounded by rough looking dudes with KKK tattoos, would you be completely comfortable telling them you date someone who is black? One's level of comfort in talking with someone else about a thing has less to do with the offensiveness of the thing and more to do with the preconceived notions one has about the other person's potential reaction.

There are times (not saying that PoE character names are one of them) where being "offensive" is the best and most moral choice. Which is why it's such a useless word.

How about every play on the word Removed By Admin that idiot Nuggi puts in his name. He seriously knows how to beat a dead joke.

Because the idea of a personal god offends me and I find the concept ridiculous and juvenile. I also have disdain for people using their idea of God to justify any action at all whether it be in the justification of war or for the reason behind a charitable act.

My point being that different people find different things offensive, there is no universal standard for what is offensive to everyone. If I don't like a players name in game, I don't report them. If a player is harassing someone specifically or threatening violence towards someone then that should be reported.

idk man most important people throughout history believed in god(s)or were spiritual. Most of them were certainly not juvenile. In fact religion helped forge the West and many aspects of civilization. You're shortchanging religion and not realizing how powerful of a positive force it can and has been. I actually find your bigotry incredibly juvenile but w/e.

My personal beliefs were stated to show how there is no universal standard regarding what is considered offensive. Also I don't limit and categorize my beliefs into the term atheist. I have already stated that if I find something offensive, I don't force my beliefs on that person or expect to constrain or restrict their beliefs in which I may find offensive (I don't report religious character names as offensive).

I also said nothing in regards to "spirituality" under whatever broad definition that term is used.

Yes, the satisfaction of serving the people is the only thing that matters to me. Knowing that I am working towards progress is all that matters to me. Progress, achievement, and deeper knowledge all fulfill me. Where is the humor in this?
