Kripparrian is playing poe!!!!

Thank you BurnOutBrighter!!

Once I heard that he did this, it made me laugh.

Way to be "Hardcore" Kripp.

There is a difference to using a tp and quitting. Using a tp takes slightly longer and is using an item in the game to get out of a sticky situation.

Quitting the game because you are about to die.... This is not hardcore whatsoever. Tell Kripp to go to the default league. Where he apparently belongs. If you're too scared to lose you toon upon death (which he apparently is) you shouldn't be playing HC.

What a wuss.

Personally, IMHO, this should not be allowed. Using a tp. cool, no problem. But guess what, in default league, if I'm about to die, I don't back out of the game. My toon is level 76. If I die, I can lose DAYS of XP. I take that punishment.

TLDR: Kripp, you're a wuss for backing out of the game. Take your consequences like a man.

A better idea would be to not get your panties in a wad over how someone else plays the game.

If quitting the game saves a character and weeks of time then I don't blame anyone for doing that. GGG should implement some kind of check against being able to do it if its that big of a deal.

If you're quick enough to alt-f4 it, or if you're quick enough to TP, you get to keep your character. Whats the big deal?

It turns out, its not a big deal.

The thrill of potentially losing your toon is the entire point of permadeath. Players that don't fear death will play recklessly and won't survive long in a permadeath game.

You already pointed out yourself that using a tp is only slightly different from logging out. What's the big deal here? Both are features that are implemented in the game.

If you don't back out when you realize you are about to die, then in my opinion you're stupid and reckless.

P.S. I play a different permadeath game. In this game you can bind a key that will bring you back to a safe zone. It's totally accepted in that game. Nobody even considers it as an act of a coward. Why? Because if you realize death is imminent, you deserve to live. You have properly gauged the consequences of your actions.

I think you're right in the fact that it's not really a big deal overall.

But, there is absolutely 0 difference between HC and softcore if HC players simply alt-f4 out of a game to prevent the consequence of death. People in the default league take the consequence of death per the leagues rules.

Apparently some "HC" players feel that they are HC for avoiding the only difference between the leagues.

Again, I'll take my 15% loss (days of kills). But if HC players do this trick, than technically, softcore is more HC that certain HC players play the game. Seems kinda weird to me.

EDIT: If you realize death is imminent. You are supposed to learn from your mistakes with that toon and move on. You are most definitely not a HC player if you cheat the game.

RIP Kripp's toon. Better luck next time. Re-roll like a man, and best of luck

You cannot always use this.

Sometimes players die because of lag, desync or similar issues.

Sometimes players misjudge a situation: they think they can take the mob, but in the end they couldn't and they die.

Sometimes players get oneshotted before they even know it.

There are enough opportunities to die.
There are enough opportunities to die.

So, quitting the game on an occasion where you know you can makes you HC? Sorry. No.

Being smart enough to teleport out of the level when you're in a tough spot to save your toon= HC

Again, sorry your toon died Kripp. Learn from your mistakes and move on. Reroll.

Explain how using a feature that is part of the hardcore mode is not hardcore.

"alt+f4" is part of HC?
Man, every computer game created by every human being is part of the HC of PoE!
Someone said quitting was a feature...
