Kripparrian is playing poe!!!!
props for him to retort to his hangers-on about them forming their own opinion, and not forming one prematurely.
Note, unlike the D3 exiles here, he still is very much a big fan of D3. So he comes with a D3 mindset, he playstyle like hes playing d3. He thinks POE should play like D3. This is a bad omen. Lol, this guy really has no grasp of POE's game mechanics. Ie, when he no longer fulfills the gem requirements, he says its a "bug". Hope he does proper research. POE is a constantly evolving game, so expect balance changes, buffs and nerfs STILL! Dernière édition par THEHORNEDRAT#1516, le 28 juil. 2012 à 00:32:52

" Agreed. Kripp is a decent guy from videos I've seen of him but he is totally coming into PoE with a D2/D3 mindset. He fought Mervel a few minutes ago, ported back to town and noticed his flasks all regenerated. He assumed this was a broken mechanic and suggested "this should be fixed", without ever knowing that he's only in the first level of difficulty also some leagues, primarily Ironman, will not refill flasks when you are in town. Somehow Chris thinks his popularity will help bring more players to PoE, gave him twenty closed beta keys to hand out. If we're going to be using popular Youtubers and streamers, you need to aim big. Totalbiscuit was a good start, branch out to guys like Jesse Cox, UberhaxorNova, Swifty, people who have hundreds of thousands of subscribers and in some cases, millions. |

" Could not agree more (to both posts). |

Honestly, I think the fact that PoE has had Brother Laz for a while and he's still about is a bigger deal than Kripp, but I saw Median XL as something truly amazing.
But hey, any and all publicity is good. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period. |

it's a good idea to go for some youtube promo.. but be smart about it..
if a guy gets pretty famous about D3 and splashes a review of other games here or there.. you won't get anything more than "looks promising but still a ton of issues" blah blah blah.. a) stop comparing a beta project to a fully released and multiple patched game b) consider the manpower behind the product for GGG you need to realize that they WONT provide anything fully supportive or in anyway critically comparative to other games. That would immediately delegitimize all their previous work and videos that are in support of the other games that are gaining their viewership. Is someone like kripp honestly going to say "hey ya, poe rocks, ignore all my other D3 videos and switch games"? Promo on the larger scale, game review sites etc first.. I can guarantee the words will be overwhelmingly positive. These youtube guys aren't professionals... i doubt any of them came to your forums and read the manifesto before making their comments. make a press release with your free keys for anyone to easily review so they take notice that you guys are proactive, reactive and responsive. Then they honestly can't make off-the-cuff remarks to your detrement; and if they try they might say "but, GGG is planning to fix before release - which is great". ok i posted something! Can i login to the game now??

" That's one big reason some of us love GGG (and Chris), they are very approachable. You can send them private messages here on the forums, and they'll take the time to answer you, reply to forum threads, etc. I can't really think of another game developer who will do so, on a personal level. That really told me they are a class act and good down to earth people. |
