Kripparrian is playing poe!!!!
" I actually overlooked it. Thanks for pointing out that there was an option to making the map more apparent. Still, act 2 is kinda a disaster in terms of relying the tab map. Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

Kripp takes his fan base with him usually, so it makes sense.

Kripparian is willing to switch to PoE and leave D3 for real.

" What will prove more interesting is how many of them stay should he move on -- and it's very likely he will, given the dynamic (I'd even say frenetic) nature of the ARPG/MMO market. Gw2's right around the corner, TL2's not far off, etc., etc. And they said *I* was bad at PoE. At least I made it out of act 1 and know how to use the /dnd function. El oh fucking el.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period. |

" I read through the first 16 pages of this thread until I got to this quote. I do not follow Kripp and honestly have only ever watched that one video of his. I have no opinion on streamers or their followers or Kripp for that matter. My reason for posting is simple. After seeing this video about itemization I came to this website. I spent an entire evening reading through just hundreds of posts/threads. I looked at the skill tree, I looked at the class choices. I decided I just had to play this game. I talked my husband into letting me donate for a beta key. One day later he decided he needed one too. We are loving this game. My point is really that publicity is a good thing. I understand that many of you may be weary over the sort of person you are reaching, but word of mouth spreads like a spiderweb. In all seriousness I am pretty sure my husband has never heard of Kripp. |

" Give this person a cookie, please. If you watch Krip's stream, then chances are you've heard me on it, I am Ash. We stream games that we enjoy playing and we tell our viewers what WE think about the game and if we like it or not. We try to be honest about the good & the bad. Each and every person that watches has to make the decision for him or herself if the game is something they'd want to invest time and money into. We have different approaches to said goal as well, Krip does about 80% gameplay and 20% viewer interaction, while I do about 80% interaction and 20% playing, but the end-result is still the same: Quite a lot of people who have never heard of PoE previously get sucked into it by how much depth the game has and more-so by the positively awesome attitude of it's developers, embodied in Chris when he comes on our Mumble. Publicity in any form is good, word of mouth travels much farther than any kind of PR campaign. It doesn't matter if you like Kripp, or myself or any other streamer. What does matter is if you like Path Of Exile and you want this game to succeed, then you should support the people who try to promote this game to a wider audience, not criticize them. |

I only hope the devs do not change the game to satisfy a popular individual.

" Agreed, I think there is a lot of hipsters wanting this game to stay on the DL so they can continue to see this game as theirs somehow. The thing is, a lot of us really like this game, and we fear change. I have a question, though. After the cut throat event you guys suggested to Chris that there be more of an indicator of enemies on screen, as it was confusing at times. Do you think over time your eye would be more trained to pick up the red/green mouseover, and your teammates armor? I really like the clean interface (lack of floating combat text as well) and would hate to have to start turning on a bunch of clutter to even the playing field. Current IGNs:
