Yeah, that's all one of the most frustrating parts, I mean, even in POE1 you could at least come up with SOMETHING decent that will kill map bosses like Shaper, Sirus, Eater, etc, I dunno about Ubers, I am sure you can make it work if you're really good, but uh yeah.
It's just frustrating that in POE2 it's like, they tried to 'fix' our class for us, like 'look how much more engaging it is now' but it's just worse.
Also, yeah, I think I kind of hate the 'Spirit' system. I already have to make dumb decisions like, do I want, a Skeleton Sniper, or do I want, a Skeleton Arsonist. It's like, pick one, they both cost a lot, so either or.
Uh. Why can't I just have both? I mean, if you for example just had a fireball skill gem, you wouldn't have to pay spirit to activate it. You would just have that spell.
And it's fair to make that comparison now because, the Arsonist, or whatever else, is your fireball. It's not, just, a horde of skeleton dudes who throw fireballs for you, it's like here are your Skeleton-shaped fireballs, enjoy throwing them. Yay.
Anyway, like I said before, I am not sharing my build, I don't have to, I am talking about stuff like 'class fantasy' and things like that. If you have a build, by all means share it, I am sure I can improve some things, but I don't need my character 'fixed'. I don't think I have even died this league so far, I am just sick of this malformed archetype.
And yeah, I don't think it's at all unfair to say the designers seem to hate anyone who uses minions. They kind of always have, or at least, for a very long time they have. I am just tired of it. It seems evident to me none of them 'really' enjoy or play these builds. And that's okay. But I am sick of being basically constrained by what they 'think' is 'reasonable' for us to have.
I am sure it's fine to go into a testing environment and fight an act boss and set all your skills to what they should be, and fight with some deliberately crappy gear, and then beat the boss playing your Necromancer test build, and say "well gee that worked pretty well, I see no problems here" but it's another thing entirely to... actually really WANT to play, a Necromancer (or Lich) or whatever you want to call it.
It's analogous I think to how, developers will say "here is your Linux build, Linux users, none of us on the team use Linux so we don't know if it works or not, but uh there you go" and that's basically what this whole minion thing is.
So me personally I'd say they need more testing... oh wait. Isn't this game in beta? Isn't all of us supposed to be basically testers? Aren't we supposed to be pointing this stuff out to them? Oh! I guess we are which is the whole point of this feedback forum.
Well how about that.
