It's not about Balance, it's about viability.
Range is 3 times better than melee. Life is 3 times worse than ES. Only 1/5 of skills are effective. 4 ascendancies are 3x times better than the rest. It's not rocket science... |

Mostly positive reviews should turn to positive sooner or later if caps don't prevent this mess. And it's not an excuse that the game is in middle of development. |

There will never be perfect balance and it's ok.
Matter of fact it may even be a good thing. If everything is perfectly balanced nothing can ever change and the meta will become stale very quickly. The problem happens when you have 1 or two skills/archetypes absolutely dominating everything by far, and on the other hand of the spectrum you have entire classes and skills be so far back they are basically worthless dog shit compared to the top performers. The balance doesn't have to be perfect, but it has to exist at least enough so that if you are not playing the meta archetype you don't constantly get the feeling of "what the fuck I am even doing with this character when other classes get 5x the amount of power with half the investment ?" |

If they start to make monthly balance patches, which would consist of small changes in numbers in order to find a sweet spot of given ability/item/Node, we would eventually be at the closest thing to balance there is.
But that requires frequent updates and monitoring. |
