100% increased effect of socketed item MUST GO

I mean, I can put my hand up for the fact I keep playing with none of those things.

...But that's more about the abysmal rng, total lack of back luck protection, and the joke of a casino they pretend is crafting, all working together to make it such that I don't get any gear with those options in the first place.

Yeah that's fair, I was making the tacit assumption that the gear is accessible through trade. Obviously if there are no means to obtain it, that doesn't apply. Are you playing SSF then? Because basic +skill or +movement speed gear is very cheap on trade.

I don't know if you've been playing 0.3, but some people believe the crafting is *too* deterministic and powerful now. It's no longer "6 wisdom scroll crafting" with currency tiers, guaranteed essence mods, and abyssal craft. And at higher levels omens of homogenization and prefix/suffix targeting, etc. When you throw recombination and socketables into the mix, it's arguably much less RNG based than PoE1.

Although, many of these things (besides Runes) are not accessible for most of campaign. It would be nice if they made changes there.

The game is still in development; you have to let them cook. PoE1 has had ups and downs and has changed dramatically over ~12 odd years.

The problem right now is: Some things just provide a huge power spike, like + X levels for all spells/melee, 100% more socket effect, certain nodes on passive (like +15% MORE MAXIMUM lightning damage with a single node) and other things are completely inferior. These things offer such a huge bonus, that it's almost build defining. Show me any build out there that doesn't use + X level on weapon/shield/amulet. Show me any arc, spark, lightning warp or lightning spear build that doesnt use "Wild Storm" (directly skilled or on amulet).

Things that are used by almost 100% of the community need to be nerfed to make other things shine more. Ofc we could buff everything else, but sometimes nerfing one thing is easier then buffing everything else.

So I'd say 100% increased effect doesnt need to be completely removed, but definitely reduced to something like 50% increased effect. Still good, but not overpowered.

Ofc not everyone uses it, because it's not low budget. You need quite some currency to get the most out of it. But those who can afford it usually go for it, unless they need the slot for a certain build defining unique item.

...and current builds related will be destroyed....

If GGG decide this then it should replace the missing 50% with something. Better one more socket...

This wouldn't be a big nerf then. 50% increased effect but also +1 slot?

Quick math:

Socket*inc.effect(100%)+Socket*inc.effect(100%) = X
50*2 + 50*2 = 200

Socket*inc.effect(50%)+Socket*inc.effect(50%)+Socket*inc.effect(50%) = X
50*1.5 + 50*1.5 + 50*1.5 = 225

in the end, you would even have more then before. That's not a nerf, it's a buff. But removing increased effect entirely, but giving +1 slot would be a solution. Because then:

socket+socket+socket = X
50 + 50 + 50 = 150

A good nerf, but giving players more freedom on how to use each slot.

Because it's the no-lifers and RMT users defending this kind of design. The hostility that you can see deriving from these individuals is a dead giveaway. These big power gaps also exist because MF is still a thing and a lot of people do not know how good it is or others can't be bothered to sacrifice stats for it.

It was just people being jealous. Not anything unbalanced about these things

Yeah I'm sure GGG were jealous of their own game, that's why it got nerfed.

No...it was OP, just like everything else they decide to nerf.
