Just make it start after 95 or something.

Starting at 70 is seriously annoying.

If the goal is to keep everyone from running around with 100th level chars that would do it with far less rage inducing.

It's funny that you completely contradict yourself. You say that it doesn't matter to get past 94, then you go on and say XP loss is the only thing that makes death scary.

And no, as I've explained several times, it doesn't force well balanced builds. It forces meta screening clearing builds that minimize the use of defense. The game is not balanced and defenses are just flat out bad.

Its such a bad mechanic. +1

Exp loss has no reason to exist in any modern ARPG. Games are supposed to be fun, not punishing for no reason.
Again...Just make XP punishment start after 95 or something.

Fair compromise to please both sides of these debates.

I've read through this whole thread, and not once have I seen you list your reasons why you feel you need to get to 100. You just keep saying it's not because you think it's the end of the game, it's not bragging... so what is your reason then?

There is ZERO content in this game that requires level 100.
There's still passives to be gained. You say it doesn't matter, well good for you then don't worry about it. It matters to me and a lot of other people.

You keep saying there's zero content requiring lvl100, you also say no one needs to level that high, yet you also say the XP penalty is necessary so death matters and there's a challenge. Makes zero sense by your own logic. If XP loss makes death matter and adds a challenge, then you are admitting leveling to 100 is an important goal and does matter. If we don't need to lvl past the low 90s, then XP penalty shouldn't affect you in any way and it's irrelevant.

Either admit lvl100 is important to you or stop saying death penalty makes death matter and adds a challenge. If 100 is irrelevant then so is the death penalty. You're talking out of both sides of your face

Those passives matter to me and a lot of other people, as I've stated numerous times in multiple threads.

The only one who has it backwards is you, and you really have no reason to even be arguing with anyone about this. You claim those passives make no significant change to a build. Fine, then you literally have no reason to be for or against a death penalty, or even recovering XP on a corpse. Yet for some reason you insist what's best for other players who do think it means something.

You're displaying a neighborhood Karen attitude towards this subject. You feel the need to dictate what's best for other people towards something that admittedly affects you in no way. You just can't stand the idea of other players leveling up without sinking in 1000 hours in a character

You already don't care about leveling. You are perfectly happy staying at level 90 forever. Why would you suddenly care about levels if you reach level 100?
