Tiers are still ass backwards.

i downloaded exile exchange2 which is the lovechild of awakened poe trade
there is a function in it that reverses the tiers when u search the items.
best thing possible. now i can identify ok items from a glance.

their decision to reverse the tiers was a really bad decision.
i understand where are they coming from but it just made sense for the best mods to be T1.

it might be a bit weird for maps to follow the same rule but even those could benefit from the same design.
or just give us the option to reverse them in the settings. OR make the best tiers fancier or show us the number of tiers a mod has just anything. because now we look at items and we have to google if they are good cuz i dont know how many tiers all the mods have. and i dont even want to learn all that.

See this is exactly what ggg said they wanted to avoid.
Needing external tools to understand something that should be SO basic is utter nonsense.

[Removed by Support] design decisions like this are the core of all the issues with POE2.

Some things have 5 tiers, some things have 12.
Tier 12 should be the worst, tier 1 should be the best.
Smaller number = gooder is WAY better QOL/readability when the number of tiers is inconsistent.

We shouldnt need to memorize every. fucking. affix. to know whats what.

This is such a no-brainer.
We have:
-Tier 1 in banking terms: the core capital of a financial institution.
-Tier 1 in military terms: mission critical equipment or the best teams.
-Tier 1 incidents are a thing in literally every IT environment.
-Tier 1 providers for data centers or cellular services.
-Tier 1 suppliers in manufacturing.
-Tier 1 medical institutes.
-Tier 1 sports teams.
-Tier 1 tournaments.
-Tier 1 credit cards.
-Tier 1 universities.
This list is endless. When you hear 'Tier 1' in basically any other context it means the best.
Blows my mind that this isnt back to the way it was in POE1.

At least show the max tier affixes can be. example:
[ GGGs Decision making: 1 / 13 ]
or
[ Tiering things like you dont need a lifeguard while showering: 11 / 10 ]

^ thats a shit solution compared to the way poe1 works but ill take it.

The developers have designed t12 to be the best, that means once each month you will go from 1 to 12 as and expectation that in 12 months, you will improve to 12.

Wait am I supposed to +1 this or +{some_other_unknown_number_here} ?

which is it?
+++

This is either a Tier 1 idea, or a Tier 11 idea.

Which depends on if you’re a sane person or if you’re the person who designed PoE2 item tiers.

I hate the new tier system aswell!! Why have they made it less approchable for casuals is beyond me. Revert it to poe1 tier value pls. This change is the easiest ever and such a qol win
There is nothing wrong with the tiering system (in the context you speak of) except that the endpoint is variable and we should be told a mod is tier 6 (1-12) or tier 6 (1-7) both of which are possible.
The only other issue is PoE1 players (of which I am one) who are used to the inverse tiering system, which caused major problems when they did a power creep parse a while ago.

FFS it is not that difficult, and considering to need a god damned scientific calculator and Path of Building to come up with a build you should be able to figure out what tier is what.

Crying about the devs choice to do something that you dont like is just a waste of everyone's energy. There are things that are actually broken that need to be fixed in this game. Lets focus on what is important.

Then i suggest you make a thread where you describe your issues in a detailed and productive way instead of crying in the replies of one you don't like.

Last Epoch has their affix tiers backwards as well. Except the impact there is different. Every affix has 7 tiers. So you know immediately if you are getting high tiers. In PoE2 some things have 12 tiers and other things have 5 tiers.

Their excuse in an early interview, if I recall, was that they didn't want to confuse players who enter mapping and the tiers go from 1 to 16 with 16 being the highest. Pretty sure most new PoE players won't even know that affixes have tiers by the time they finish campaign. And even then, its pretty easy to understand the difference between an affix and a map.

I believe the real reason is that they built it this way and it is too much work to go back and fix the mistake. Which unfortunately seems to be the same attitude towards many other core problems like trading or the entire endgame system.
