One-attempt Maps are a massive middle finger, PLEASE change it

There is probably sub 25k people that actually like the level of punishment in this game, but this tiny proportion of players make up over half of the forum users.

I'd love to see your methods for deriving such specific values. Do bless us with your data omnipotence, master.

Could you sound more pedantic?

I could, but which part of the definition are you talking about? Obsessing over trivial things or using big words?

Edit: Okay, this was just like...a stupid troll on top of something honest, so haha or whatever.

For real though, I was being overly pedantic as an "equal level of ridiculousness" response to something that is just made up numbers to suit one's own agenda.

So why is there such a high risk while there is hardly any reward. That is the whole problem of the game. Rewards are sooo low that any risk is too high. If they should increase the rewards I would be happy to take a bit more risk.

Then why are you taking the risks ?

Aaah, there is you again. Defending the game in every possible way. Not accepting any criticism and always attacking the people saying anything negative about the game. Why don't you spend your time playing your wonderful game instead of posting here?

To answer your question I am not taking risks anymore. I quit waiting for better times if they will ever come for this game.

Not defending the game, just asking you a fair question.

For some people, the highest tier of difficulty already doesn't offer much risks but a baseline of rewards. It's not risky for them as they have a better build, better gear, or better skill. If it's too risky for you, then you know you can improve, and meanwhile, you can play in difficulty tiers which don't offer that much risks for a baseline of rewards which is good enough for you to improve.
If you play riskier content, by choice, then it's on you.
it's core mechanic of end-game. it needs to stay. Don't expect poe 2 to be real clone of poe 1... game need to be slower, harder and not casualized. It's not suppossed to be easier but harder as they promised and how game was promoted.

For now it's to much poe 1

My point is that the game is not rewarding. No matter on what level you play and what risks you take. Somehow you refuse to see that. Hundreds of hours grinding for one Divine and no jeweller's orb is no fun. Getting a few exalts on the way that only roll "get 4 life on enemy kill" or some other worthless modifier is no fun. Having to rely on trade for upgrades is no fun. Somehow you don't get that. I wonder if you have played POE2 or are just trolling the forums.

This mechanic is the reason I quit playing already. Might check back in a couple years when I'm so far behind on new mechanics I'll lose interest in 5 minutes.

It's simple, build some defenses and don't run maps with 3-4 damage modifiers on them problem solved.

This ^^^^^

Do enough maps at a difficulty your character can handle, upgrade gear or review your build, improve, overcome.

The only instance where I can understand the frustration is bug- or balance-related deaths. But these issues should not be "fixed" by indirectly trivializing the core character progression mechanics of the game.

Yeah, that's the thing, I don't, and I doubt many others do, either. I literally cannot do extra damage or it kills me because of how fucked up this game's maths are. Also not my fault Armor/Life is tissue paper right now. The fact I can run dozens of T13/14/15 and barely raise my heart rate and still out of no where just random ass one shot (and I mean legit one-shot, though plenty of bullshit deaths that happen in under one second for reasons I rarely can actually figure out at death screen) should help to strongly suggest the balance is out of whack and only makes one-attempt that much more painful.

No thank you, it's full of fallacies and entitlment and you don't understand the points -we- make.

If playing in Softcore feels like Hardcore for you, then yeah, you need a Babycore where you just can't die, cause else, all possible events causing possible death would stress you too much.

Thank you for confirming you're a dishonest person. I gave you rope miles long and it is stupendously satisfying watching you somehow manage to hang yourself with it.

Why must the risk be this intense?

Because it's fun.

If it's fun for some to have one-attempt, then I again reiterate my proposal of a "Veteran" league that is punitive but not character loss punitive. I and many others would rather the game better respect our time. It is tremendously frustrating and disheartening how much fun the moment to moment gameplay genuinely is for the game to suddenly smash a middle finger into my face the speed of a bullet whether it was my fault for making a dumb move or the game's garbage balance rearing its ugly head or its own systems fighting each other and I'm caught in the middle.
