I am done, giving Last Epoch a try for a bit. This is a rant !

I tried last epoch while waiting for early access, I didn't really think that much of it

I picked it up again a couple of weeks ago, it's still pretty meh

Don't get the hype for it at all, it may have some good ideas but they're buried in a game with the worst UI, combat that doesn't have any weight to it at all, and a tedious campaign with worse map design than this game

But, I spent more than $30 on it so I should haunt their forums demanding that they rewrite it to better suit my image of what the game should be, that seems to be the thing to do these days

Shit, i missed the memo. Have a lvl 98 and lvl 97 550hrs. 500 outside campaign. And still having a blast dropping 15 plus div an hour.

Valid argument, we all define the fun we have by amount of internet pixels we get per hour! It's almost like a job, but pixels can't be exchanged for a meal or some groceries. But hey, good for you mate

I work full time at a government utility, $546 a day pays for my groceries.

Last Epoch is decent but few things I don't like: endgame, and crazy oneshot bosses in endgame.

Now I am playing Grim Dawn. They will receive an expansion this year which should buff their endgame.

Well i don't want to go back to World of Warcraft. I am afraid to go back and play POE1 after the recent developer video. So anyone have any suggestions.

I was hoping POE2 was POE1 without the learning curve. They did a good job taking away the learning curve. However the rest of the game IMO is crap.

Everything these days is either woke slop or low effort.
Kingdom come 2 already confirmed developer went back on his principles for ESG funding, just like GGG did to sell early access packs
The only upcoming games for now that might be decent are Monster Hunter Wilds(you would need 5090 probably for okay fps...) or Clair Obscur 33.
Just get some old games on sale and that should be fine for a while

By the time you get to the point in LE where you can see it's problems, we'll likely have a good update for poe2 so it'll work out.

yeah for sure, any fan of the genre could do worse than giving last epoch a try.



it has by far the best crafting system in any arpg to date. its skill customisation system is also probably the best in any arpg.

the rest of the game is hit and miss, and ultimately its just like any single player game. people want it, oh give me the ssf single player locked away alone on my pc experience with huge inflated everyone gets to win drop rates it will be an arpg utopia...

personally i found LE unplayable long term because of the controls.

It's funny. I would probably continue to play if they just made the crafting system feel like you had a real chance of getting upgrades and not just picking up every base and praying you have good luck. I don't play trade league BTW. I could probably deal with the horrible end game if i actually felt like i was having fun upgrading gear. Currently no part of the end game is fun for me.
