1 Portal system is SHIT
At least decide on one punishment.
Losing your map AND losing a lot of experience is too brutal for regular softcore mode. Maybe in ruthless leagues once the game comes out proper, but not in SC. POE 1 has experience loss but not map loss. You can even extend your portal limit beyond six if you need via Scarab of Stability. I'd rather take XP loss and have multiple attempts per map. At least 3. |

" This with the excruciatingly terrible map sustain in the game, there really shouldn't be much of an argument as to why this "1 death = map bricked" should be removed. You're not even guaranteed a Waystone drop in any map, and you apparently only have a chance of them dropping if there's a negative modifier on your map. It's utter garbage in it's current form. Also, I really don't like how Doryani only sells an infinite amount of T1 maps for 5000 gold each. Why not just have him sell an infinite amount of whatever "Clear X amount of TX maps" you last completed? At least that way, should you run out of maps, you don't have to spend 405k on T1 maps, just to make a T5 map. It's absurd. |

I also like 1 portal, but not with all the on death effects, strongbox clouds hiding ground effects and projectiles, and the currently omega overtuned white mobs (800+ damage from 1 projectile hit from a white mob with 38% armor on a tier 2 map).

I like the one portal.
Makes me play differently than PoE1. There I just throw my body at the bosses a couple of times. Not sure if I'm a minority or people who like it as well don't bother to make topics like this. |

1 portal killed endgame for me, after enjoying the game (for the most part) up to that point and looking forward to it.
Just too stressful/sweaty for me. I'm all for more challenge. I'm all for less leeway for error. I'm not for no leeway for error. Keep bosses hard and let them heal to 100% between attempts to prevent just zerging them, but at least give players 3 portals or something. Make it an atlas passive to reduce the number of portals for boosted loot or something. Let players OPT-IN as GGG has historically been fans of for difficulty/rewards. |

Now that I've been running T15 maps, I actually don't mind the fact it can be very punishing to die. With Atlas points plus alched maps you crap out waystones, so you can always drop a few tiers between juiced maps or if you run out of T15s.
All my gear is either SSF or 1-3 ex so I'm not exactly a whale or sweaty running around one shotting everything. I enjoy the challenge of needing to play well enough to not die consistently, as well as chilling down in lower tier maps as needed. Still, I do think we should be able to get back in a second time, and maybe not lose as much XP for a death since at high levels one death can be hours of XP lost on top of everything else you're missing out on. |

I wish the portal system would return to how it was in POE1. It's EXTREMELY frustrating to die and see all those hard-earned loots lying on the ground, knowing they're lost! But seriously, whose idea was this? Thanks. Just saying!
