Direct x11 is NOT better than direct x9
" ... Forum user and POE player who never bought a supporter pack tells everyone that GGG, maker of POE, ruined his game for him, and he is quitting now, 'massive loss for GGG' not listening to him and his four friends. Oh, the hypocrisy and irony. Dernière édition par RPGNoobANKA#0714, le 9 mars 2019 à 19:57:22

" He is doing it for weeks now. DX11 is clearly superior to DX9 thats just a fact. People who whine about DX11 being unplayable don't even have low end PC's, they have literall potatoes. PoE would smoothly run on W10, some pretty old cheap GPU like 650ti or 750ti and 4gb ram, i tested it myself. Come on really DX11 is fucking 10 years old, 10 YEARS. Of course it won't fucking run well if you have even older than 10 years old GPU. |

" I put some money in the game and can't play well, since 3.6.0. You were saying? |

I don't know about you, but if i have crashes every 30 -45 minutes AT THE START of a league, but never towards the end, then i think it is not on my side. my system is quite fine, no toaster trying to run the game.
i got the feeling that since 2 leagues ago the performance is dropping. would be nice to hear something from GGG about this. |

I play on almost 9 yo PC. Its:
AMD Phenom x2 @ x4 4GB ram Traditional HDD AMD 6850 I was afraid that without DX9 game would work worst, also last league was kinda hard to play because of latency things and FPS drops. But im must say game works better with shadows than on DX9. Im positively surprised by that, seriously. |

" You are right with your observation, what i just wanted to say that IMO my current pc should be able to play PoE normally. I was watching how much of a CPU and ram PoE uses and it reaches for 50%-70% of my resources, so i don't really know the case for the low fps numbers. Also the min pc specs for PoE show it all should work fine. Thanks for the advice, i was planning to buy Ryzen 7, a mobo for A4 socket that will at least support ddr 3600, at least 64 gb ( now i have only 8 gb ). Off the topic. I don't really think PoE is a game for a high - end pc, it isn't even close to today's AAA productions, still it runs bad, lags, crashes. For me PoE is a game that is dynamically changing, with devs that didn't leave it to die, kudos for that. Stating that Devs shouldn't care for players that don't buy supporter packs, when the game itself is free is nonsense. You allow players to play your game for free, so you should care for the playerbase so in the future the playerbase will support your work out of a sheer gratefullness I, myself, bought that type of funding PoE, i bought some MTX and a supporter pack when i started again to play the game, few year ago i bought some other MTX and stashes. Dear devs: either make the game cost smth or cash $$$ for microtransactions and really try to care for every single player in either of these funding mechanics. You can't just abandon players that invested money in your game when it run ok, then change the game to be unpplayable for these players. PoE is clearly badly optimised for the majority of the playerbase, a NASA pc will run anything even and old game like PoE. Cheers. |

@RPGNoobANKA
What a dumb. Now you have to buy supporter pack to make critics in the forum. I have like 3 accounts and only one I invest real money. Stop talking about things you don't know. This is true as people in Reddit say ''PoE whale supporter in the Forum are pure cancer''. Yep, dx11 is so good. damn zizarian with the GTX 1080ti with 10 FPS, but some dumb in Forum think dx11 is super omega optimized. It makes me laugh. It seems to me that GGG did something on dx11 cuz I am managing to play with party players without problem (and I still hate shadows..). some times a random freeze when I am playing for more than 2 hours (memory leak?). but yeah I'll miss my +140 FPS during Syndicate fight with dx9. " Well, I have several supporter packs and over 4 years of PoE playtime on my account, a relatively modern pc (definitely not a potato) and still have issues with Dx11: it is consistently causing other programs like VLC to crash: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2454515 PoE crashing other programs is a buggy and unacceptable behavior, and the fact that everything was fine for me with Dx9 makes it even worse. Phrase "do you guys not have phones" now sounds like "the DirectX 11 version (with shadows) performs much better than the DirectX 9 one did without shadows enabled"

" i7-8700k at 4.7GHz on all cores 32GB PC-3200 GTX-1080ti 11GB stock clocks With every option set to max at 1080p, I get 125+fps in Oriath standing next to as many particle fountains as the screen can render. While playing, it never dips below 200fps even with mass explosions from heralds or ED/Contagion. This is a big performance increase from Delve for me. I do play solo, though. One thing I have noticed is that the game gobbles up a ton of ram. Afterburner is showing 12+ GB in use with only 35%-ish CPU usage while my GPU sits at 98+% with less than 4GB in use. That looks like some shitty coding to me. It should be using more of the GPU ram, IMO. Your streamer example only works if he is using either a 2 PC streaming setup or hardware encoding. If he's using x264 on the same rig he uses to play, that could explain his fps drops. There are two types of POE players:
1) Those who want to walk uphill both ways barefoot on broken glass wearing a blindfold 2) F*cking noobs I identify as transnational Chinese. May I have access to their QOL features, please? |
