Direct x11 is NOT better than direct x9

I agree with OP. In my case i've been using dx11 and it has worked decent enough for me to play and stream before this league. Now even without streaming the herald of ice explosions destroy my framerate often times.
Plus the lowest texture settings are not very low indeed and lowering those will definitely improve performance to a lot of folks out there.
Plus there are more and more environment settings: lighting and so on, that cannot be turned off or reduced their impact on performance?
It should not be that difficult to enable a couple of low spec options.

Not being backwards compatible with anything that is not absolute newest hardware is silly IMO.

And for those who tell to upgrade my system- you are not being helpful- this thread is not for you.
we should all gather and make petition to bring back dx9, if there are enough people suffering from new changes they might hear us out

Just saw zizarian with a GTX 1080ti with 10 FPS, the drops in this game is ridiculous . If it's 2019 GGG don't know that, the engine is crap and the optimization is shit. I have a i7 + GTX 970 + 16GB ram + SSD, I can play Black Desert Online in High 60 FPS with no drops, play Battlefield 1 MP medium quality 60 FPS without drops, both games full HD, but this shit game I have drops all the time for 5~20 FPS, with all setings in low, my normal FPS is 140, but the drops are really anoyng and happens all the f*cking time, every f*cking pack of mobs, the only way to avoid that shit was desable shadows for me, and now, with the incredible DX11 this is not allowed, it's amazing because we had more options to config this shit game with a DX9 than DX11, and oh looks, it's f*cking 2019!!!! Amazing right?

Still using a 670. I think it's the game. Some things just cause frame spikes for w/e reason. Engine cannot handle 10+ pack of mobs all exploding at once. Fireball an entire pack is fine, but my framerate goes down the toilet with ED + contagion. Maybe it depends more on the CPU, I dunno.

just options in this game is a joke
medium textures are minimal option and you cant disable shadows. Why????

I agree with what you think
Hi

Core 2 quad 2,5 ghz, gtx 1050 ti, updated drivers, ssd drives.

25 fps without mobs, 1-5 fps with them.

Just like i wrote in another thread: badly optimised game and no gfx options to sort it out.

Last season I've supported your game, GGG, with money, judging by how you treat so many players makes me want to leave it.

I wonder why they are forcing people to play with shadows.
This looks like some sort of fetish for graphics and particle effect.

I see it as ''Hey you will be forced to play with shadows and other particles
effects because we work hard for it''.
They will not belive until people really stop playing the game.

Or maybe, there are not a lot of users with low end pcs and we make some noise for nothing.

YOUR CPU IS THE BOTTLENECK!

Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q8300 4M Cache, 2.50 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB
Launch Date Q4'08 (via intel arc) ... 45nm

GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Launch Date: October 25, 2016 ... 14nm

I believe the GTX1050ti was an upgrade for the PC!? What had you in there before?

Anyway, the CPU/mobo is the bottleneck. And, do you have DDR2 or DDR3? If you have with this CPU DDR2 ram ... Upgrade to entry AMD Ryzen 3 (CPU, Ram, Mobo) for $250-$300.

I DO NOT ADVISE PUTTING IN A marginally BETTER CPU FOR $25-35 USD from ebay.

Chris Wilson talked about it. I will paraphrase:

"
We don't have a $10m triple-A advertising budget to spend on YouTube, Magazines, TV ads, Twitch (Streamers) and bundle deals. The only advertising we have is our game (visually and game design wise)*. And the subsequent chatter about it. Hopefully positive. Positive, organic advertising. Bottom-up.

And if people play it with Quake3 potato graphics (on a 10-year-old computer with DX9) and show off their build on YouTube or Twitch or to their friend, in this state, this is in our eyes, not advertising. It's a really bad first impression. And first (superficial) impressions in today's age count more than ever. Especially when we have to compete against triple-A advertised games with much bigger pockets for a graphics engine (eg D3, unannounced D4, the new Torchlight Frontiers, the new Warhammer Chaosbane).

Also on a personal professional note: I think GGG should not feel to be obliged to entertain the 1% which play with Dx9 shadows off in 2019, on a 10-year-old computer. If it can make the game better for the 99% by optimising Dx11 performance and visuals.

As they wrote in their Dx9 sunset post, this step was taken to optimise the engine and DX11 performance further/in the future. And not be held back by Dx9 limitations.

* ... And our community.

BTW, the first impressions thing, and the 'we are bringing our A-game to compete against what Blizzard will throw at us with D4' ... you can see that in Mud Flats (Act 1) 3rd Zone and the Fetid Pool, 4th Zone - new players will experience. They reworked those. Much better looking. And the new music. Cool stuff. They (Chris) said they will re-work old assets for 4.0.
