i still dont understand why we need gear more powerful than the previous gear in a game based around leagues which means our characters dont still have last leagues gear. You power creep items in order to force people to replace their existing gear in non league based games, its a necessary evil in that situation. We are not in that situation.

We also dont rly have any content that we have anything close to regular access to that even begins to justify the sort of gear we are seeing. So much item power creep over the last 2 years, yet I could equip a character in fairly average to decent league gear from 2 years ago and absolutely crush t15 maps, just shit on them and 1 shot everything on the screen. A full gear set I could have bought for 20 chaos at the time back then would just obliterate red tier maps even today.

The items look cool, if there was a reason for me to have them I would probably be motivated to play and get them. I feel like what would actually happen is I would play for 2 days, have enough currency by then to afford to buy gear that could faceroll t15 maps, but then Id have to play 6 hours a day every day for the next 2 weeks before i could even get to t15 maps and play them regularly, by which time id be so overpowered it would be pointless even playing them. Id just be speedfarming for currency to buy gear that has no reason to exist, the whole point of getting gear in order to be able to beat that next challenge... there is no next challenge really, Id just be using it to farm the same t15 maps I farmed to get the gear.

I did first you need a good base item you don't want that level one item. So yea first you need three high tier base items to make a good base item with an implicit, that's gonna run you at least a few dozen chaos or a few days worth of grinding. Then you have to get lucky by actually getting a worthwhile implicit, which is going to cost you a good bit of crafting. Then you have to craft it again after you make the item you want with the implicit. Gonna cost some more time/currency there. Then after all of that you need to grind the lab for the implicit, and if it's gloves it's doesn't matter, boots gonna take a few dozen runs probably, and if it's a helmet well that's basically impossible gonna take at least a few hundred ones to get one.

So you all the crap about power creep is for the 0.1% that wants higher numbers but it doesn't matter practically since doing the high tier content isn't gonna change even if you triple all of your stats. It's already highly maxed out. It's why they don't gate content around power and never had, because at the end of the day power doesn't matter in this game and never has.

By the way you said find or make an item with an implicit and that's how you do it. That's what you're complaining about, maybe you should read your posts before you insult people for reading and responding to them.

TL:DR power creep doesn't matter it's been maxed out for the whole life of the game, and content was never gated behind power anyway so it reallllly doesn't matter, because at the end of the day the game isn't about making a better character to do more content.

It's bait for the stardard players. They sit in standard with mirror tier gear and no intention of joining the current league. When GGG introduces new op league specific stuff they'll change their mind and join the league with the sole purpose of hauling back those new sweet op items.
