List of Poe biggest flaws - add yours

1. too many low lvl uniques - i would like more uniques with properties not found anywhere that change how you would play the character

2. maps do not drop enough

3. minimum exp gains from maps are too low, should be based on tier of map , or bosses should give substatially more exp.

4. death penalty to harsh after 90 , resulting in much of the game being skipped. There should be a way to regain loss exp at a greater rate. Currently it is just play chicken until you lvl then challenge the game.

5. Energy shield leech does not need a penalty with instant leech gone

6. Energy shield values are still too low

7. Guardian gets too much energy shield compared to all other classes , resulting in the nerf to es in first place.

8. 85% of skills are useless

9. fix aoe , projectiles clear screens, melee with ancestreal can clear screens , why is aoe so nerfed

10. fix the elder/shaper map debacle. stop gating content behind rng and just have a map be shaper influenced or elder. you win it changes sides.

11. fix getting shaper orbs, though 10 would fix this i guess

12. stop selling gambling boxes and just release the mtx for ppl to buy.

13. add some functionalty to guilds , it is a huge paid feature.

14. allow cross instance trading , so in league you can access standard stash to trade without swapping.

No guild stash log and the officer rank can't cancel errant guild invites or kick people or name stash tabs at the start of the league.

Map drops rates have gotten too low too. I'm fine with high level maps being harder to get, but there is no reason to have such a low drop rate below T11 maps.

Quality of Unique is far and away my biggest complaint, I wish there would be more RNG style uniques where at least there's a CHANCE what you find is worth picking up (potential for a high stat roll out of a large spread, such as Facebreaker or Ventor's Gamble). I get sick of finding 10+ uniques in a map or lab run and not 1 is even worth identifying. I get that some uniques are used for leveling, those are generally fine (Goldrim), but when you can find an absolutely maxed unique and it's not worth the space it takes up to anyone, there's a problem. Especially when you consider how many are 'end game' uniques (lvl 50-60+) that are still unusable, can't even argue their worth for leveling. Would be much more exciting if unique drops were more consistently worth looking at, even if they weren't necessarily always good.

Love the game, but the loot system is such a chore for how little payout there is most of the time.
Worst thing about the game?
Access to difficult Maps is bad.

Forced trading for maps first for atlas progression and later for elder progression is by far the biggest flaw. That's the beauty of a shaped atlas, you don't have to deal with that shit or worry about what map to run next.

100% agree. I will add that elder circle is somewhat an answer but it takes too much effort to set it up and only people who have a lot of time and what are they doing actually have it.

I just want to select by myself what i want to run and i want to have shaper/elder influence somwhere.
I would just prefer some orbs to block your atlas influence rather than doing stupid elder circle.
1. SSF not balanced

In any ARPG that I played, SSF was the legit way to play. No third party influence from RMT, cheaters or exploit users, leechers.

At POE, SSF is none like that. While we can play solo and legit, the drop rates are not balanced for it, as the game still believes that we would trade, abuse group play and so on. here GGG should listen to the SSF community and do something about it. This is especially noticeable at finding uber trials, legendary beasts to capture, masters leveling and crafting.

2. XP on death


An ancient mechanic but terribly implemented. In other ARPG´s, you pick HC if you want to play a risky game or you play SC if you don´t. If you die at SC, you lose your XP, that you can get back by collecting your corpse. At POE; such a system does not exist. It´s almost as if we are punished twice if we die. Not only do we lose a portal, but also XP and this can be as much as the progress of a whole week.

Here GGG should use some common sense and either remove the penalty or give us a way to gain our lost XP back.

3. Leveling XP rate

Level 90 is like the end of leveling for most players, as the XP gain is so low these days, that it would take years for a casuals to become max level.

It should be possible for a casual to reach max level in a league, or GGG should offer additional quests to gain the missing skill points.

4. Lab


I don´t mind the idea, but the execution is bad. First we must find the trials, which is as explained above impossible in SSF. Then we lose our progress if we die in the lab, which can happen quite quickly due a DC or some instagib ability.
Also the rewards are mediocre at best once we did it for the first time, as we do not get any further ascendancy points.

GGG should either remove ascendancy points and buff loot massively so that those who enjoy lab can play this all day, while the rest has other means of gaining the points. Another option would be to give us six portals when we enter, while the trials are removed or upped in their spawn rates.

5. Difficulty

The game itself has a lot of balancing issues. If you run melee or wanderer, you have a easy going atmoshphere, especially if you trade. But if you play a summoner, you face many disadvantages. Your zombies can not tank the big bosses, voici missions are undoable as your army does not stop dealing damage and overall, the AI is terrible.

If we now add the one shot mechanics, xp loss and poor drop rates, terrible crafting system... then this game has a much to high difficulty. It would be wise to give the 99% playing the game something as well, instead of focusing on the nerds that cheat the system anyways by going RMT, cookie cutter builds and third party programs & macros.

6. Unique items

You would think, that they are great, but most of them are terrible. It would be best if uniques drop less, but if they do, then they are always an upgrade. We have boots with 5% movement speed, how is that even possible?
Others have no resistances, low armor...


I still enjoy the game, but those things above are holding POE back.

When I read the wiki page about Shaper Orb I want to hit my head on the wall.
Especially when it's a streak of terrible RNG map drop making the progress of getting there incredible costly.
I really have to ask - is the reward justify the cost and frustration?
1) Glassblower's Bauble drop rate.

2) Zana's levelling penalty.
Other masters have a headstart already. I never understood the reason for this.

3) Spirit dropped due to using a movement skill in Haku missions.

3) Unable to join multiple guilds.
I have multiple friend groups. Why should I have to quit my guild to join another one? Especially when you spent real-world money for your guild.

4) Vendor buying prices.
There must be multiple valuations. e.g. RGB 3 linked 6 socketed rare item with +2 to skill mod should be priced: 1 Chromatic + 7 Jewellers + some Alchemy and Alteration shards. Would be a good way to collect low-level crafting orbs.

5) General use support/skill gems behind attribute wall.
Especially Intelligence gems. Some of them can be used by any class/build but they have a high Intelligence requirement. Conductivity, Increased Critical Strikes, Increased Critical Damage etc.
