Sometimes Atlas bosses can be too strong.

" No, not at all the same, not even close. If someone can somewhat easily fight their way to Dominus, Dominus is not going to kill you in one or two hits. Same goes with all of the other bosses you listed. If you can clear Kaoms dream without ever coming close to dying, Kaom is not going to one hit kill you. In the Atlas I am supposed to be looking for the cloaked figure. When the bosses get to half-health, the cloaked figure buffs them. I have seconds to leave the area before I die after the buff. How does this make any sense to go from holding my own against a boss, to getting kille din two hits? How does it make any sense to work through a level, the have the boss kill you with one or two hits? My steam - http://steamcommunity.com/id/old-school-player

" Yes he will, from Cruel, unless very tanky char for their level, ToG is a one-hit ability. Hell, even his "ghost flow" taken up front is going to destroy you if you don(t dodge it ( especially during leveling. The normal encounter might not be that lethal, that's to learn the fight mostly altho new players would easily rip to it ). And the cloaked figure does not buff all bosses, far from it. You have little experience with maps I guess, some situations can often be deadlier than the boss of the map. Boss are supposed to be scary, so it seems like it's working as intended. And as I said, I would like to have the whole damage thing a little bit more evened out and have normal and magic monsters matter more generally, but it is far from being as bad as you picture it. You still haven't answered, what kills you in one or two hits ? What boss ? With what mods ? Because if it's telegraphed, thats your bad. Racecourse and Canyon bosses have been able to slaughter me in less than a second.
I don't recall what mods, if any were on. I wouldn't say they were 1 shots, unless you count whatever created that chaos damage cloud from the Canyon boss. :/ |

" The centaur boss of the trio in racecourse has a variable 100% reflect ability. Or at least it did it might have been toned down if I recall, I spent a lot of early atlas with summoner or essence drain so I never knew or cared beyond knowing it had a reflect ability. That is probably what's giving you a run for your money there. For Canyon, if you killed the dog then yeah the bird is going to deal pretty big damage as the remaining boss. But that is on purpose as the cload is caustic arrow chaos damage, something GGG implemented on purpose to be more punishing for those who don't prepare and have little chaos resist as it is generally seen as not necessary until you hit red maps before. That and mods like vulnerability, increased monster damage and stuff is going to make bosses like that hurt more. "It's all clearer now
And I hear her now And I'm nearer to The Salvation Code" |

" Read above for one example, the cloaked figure restores the health of Atlas bosses and I am dead seconds later. After the buff I can not even get one hit in. Do you write down everytime you are killed and who killed you? Neither do I. Tell you what, next time I will take a screenshot. " I have been playing for years and have NEVER had a regular map boss kill me in one or two hits. " Really? Explain why I can get the boss down to half-health, then dead seconds after the cloaked figure appears and restores the health of the boss. IMO more of the problem is too easy normal/blue/rare mobs which makes it so that people don't care about the mapmods anymore.
Most bosses do not onehot anybody if the mapsmods are easy, throw in certain mods and the bosses start to oneshot. Simple as that. d:-D*

" Are you expecting multiple bosses to have their damage match singles bosses or something ??? What do you do if you encounter multiple bosses, do just rush and try to tank them or don't you try to think for a second and split them ?????? That said, the Canyon bosses hurt a lot for their level, and one enrages when the other is killed so you need to be very cautious. If you just try to tank them without thinking, obviously they will rip you apart. I would be very curious to see your feedback after you go in blind in excavation and try to rush and facetank the bosses there. Racecourse boss isn't very hard, you are supposed to not take them straight in the face unless you can blow them up or are extremely tanky. The gladiator has a quite strong bleed. The hound ... not much. The centaur can charge you and has another telegraphed hit I believe. " Ok let me try again : " Because if everything kills you in one or two hits, that means that your character has a real problem, or : you are expecting to facetank everything included bosses, even the one empowered through the storyline. Which is ....... really not clever at best. And by doing that, you will be dying outside of bosses anyway. You don't need a screen shot, if you had trouble with a specific boss, you'd remember it. " DOMINUS hell, it was about Dominus here, not map bosses, the whole point was about the act bosses that do ( almost all of them ) have telegraphed hit that will one shot a standard cruel character !!! And if you want to start talking about palace dominus, he will blow you up instantly (assuming you dont instantly kill him) if you try to facetank him unless you have over 15k ES maybe. But you've probably never reached palace, otherwise you would know. " Because there is a problem with either your char, or the way you play the game, or both. But it's not actually relevant, the point was : The cloaked figure does not buff ALL bosses, far from it. Meaning that only a very tiny tiny part of the encounters fall into that category, really really tiny tiny. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Dernière édition par Fruz#6137, le 1 juin 2017 à 01:19:40

" havent gotten there personally (I only have one go at Chimera since I'm SSF, and I'm scared to use it hehe), so correct me if i'm wrong... but aren't the four bosses leading up to shaper shock/freeze/etc immune? :P - 0 * - < _ > - * 0 -- 0 * - < _ > - * 0 -- 0 * - < _ > - * 0 -- 0 * - < _ > - * 0- 0 * - <

" You are probably talking about early zana shaper quest. Once you have completed it it wont come up again in the same league. This is one of the (many) things in PoE for which knowledge gives a huge advantage. -- If you do want to beat it I would recommend running easy maps with open boss layouts until you got it done. I think you have to beat a possessed boss ~3 times. At least it was like that for me. The later appearance/s may require some minimum map tier. Not sure. Probably tier 5 (Dunes is good for this) is enough. Also I would recommend first staying away (while circling around and avoiding the skills) from the Shaper-possessed boss to figure out how it works. If you are a newish player doing melee then it may be difficult though. Melee is "hard mode" especially if you dont have the previously mentioned game knowledge. -- " The 'cloaked figure' thing is probably about early shaper/zana quest and not about guardians/shaper(realm). No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!
