GGG: Autoloot feature coming soon?
Sigh....
Allow me to repeat again: Auto looting in a game like this will destroy the economy inflation wise. The game is designed around the fact that you can't currently auto loot currency. If they do impliment auto looting, GGG would need to nerf the everloving crap out of currency drop rates and that would only slow down the inflation, not control it. As I said in other auto loot threads. Imagine it in real life. Pretend there is one universal economy using a single currency model. Everbody in the world has a self contained unit that requires no energy due to being solar powered or whatever, and never requires fixing. It does something in order to generate the equivalent of a penny in this economy every x minutes. It doesn't matter how poor you are, as long as you do some sort of work or productive activity, the machine will work. So assuming pay remains static regardless of how much your machine generates, companies will constantly be updating prices on products due to every single person in the world passively becoming worth x amount of currency per minute/minutes/hours/days etc. By the time you cross a grocery store, the bread loaf you were looking for has already gone up in price just by you taking a minute to walk over to it. And this would be happening while you personally are asleep to. You wake up and products you want to purchase are now inflated to match the fact that everybody else who had their awake time while you slept was passively generating currency that has an infinite generation. You may want auto loot to make it easier to pick up the tiny pieces of currency, but any sort of auto looting will completely screw any and all sense of healthy economy in any league. You want to know the reason you think currency is a pain to pick up? It is because the smaller currency simply isn't worth the hassle to you at some point. That is why streamers in general recommend not even stopping to bother for certain loot until it meets a certain threshold. Because a single alt can cover the cost of multiple skipped wisdom scroll drops, and so on and so on. Look at how worthless gold was in Diablo 3 for a long ass time. Literally all you are asking for to happen in PoE even if you restrict it to scroll only pickup. gotcha..that makes sense but i am a stupid user. i click like 25 times per map and 15 of them are for orbs/splinters. it is a quality of life improvement for me
I dont take into account how other games operate (gold was useless in D3 anyway before the feature got released; i had tons at that time sitting in the bank) or what is the impact on the economy (i am too small to speak and i dont have any data available to analyze). I guess the company can do some data modelling behind the scenes to measure how this will impact other aspects of the game |

" Not only this, but it would kill party play as well. It works great in Diablo because loot is player-specific. In an open loot game like PoE, whoever is closest gets the loot, and auto-pickup of currency would never jibe well with party play. It could be feasible in the SSF leagues, but then you're talking about a lot of coding for a minority of players. Maybe auto-loot if you were not actively in a party allowing non-SSF players to benefit as well, but it's a lot of work for not a lot of gain. |

Do people actually use the FFA loot? I haven't seen a single party use that in maybe 2 leagues.
Edit: In thinking, why in the world WOULD you use FFA loot system when you can use permanent allocation ? Dernière édition par Jouchebag#3841, le 17 févr. 2017 à 15:26:01

" I had problems with wanting to pick up every currency too. For a long time mind you. Breach was the first league that broke me out of the habit. You just get to the point where you tell yourself "You know, I could have made 2 alts worth of currency in drops if I had kept running and killing instead of picking up these 10 scattered wisdom scrolls... I could have generated a chaos worth of drops in the time it took me to pick up those currencies trans or lower just then..." etc. "It's all clearer now

" What are you talking about? Almost every single modern arpg has this shit these days. Ever played titan quest? That was a perfect system for lazy fuckers like me. ^^ German saying: Schönheit und Funktionalität in Sekundenschnelle zu ruinieren, ist dem wahren Dilettanten keine Herausforderung!

Autoloot for currency would be great, but I would be happy if at least when good currency dropped I got some kind of notification. Many times something dies off screen and drops something good that I only ever find by accident. I shutter to think of all the good drops I have missed that were off screen. My biggest fear is losing a mirror or even an exalt.
