I'm really disappointed with GGG's policy toward scamming, name & shame, vouch threads, etc.
Vouch threads it's like Amazon deleting all reviews below 4 stars and leaving 5 star only. Completely pointless - if GGG deletes negative feedback they should delete positive feedback as well and simply disallow vouch threads. You can't personally attack or cause harm to the reputation of others but why does GGG automatically assume negative feedback causes harm? In starcraft 1 I had a loss account. Maybe in PoE someone wants the reputation of a scammer, and a good feedback/vouch harms their desired reputation while a name & shame improves it. What if your twitch/youtube viewership/revenue depends on your notoriety? Perhaps the only way to affect change is to make GGG go crazy by creating the PoE equivalent of a loss account. Never underestimate what the mod community can do for PoE if you sell an offline client. Dernière édition par Vhlad#6794, le 30 janv. 2017 à 15:11:59

If you guys wish to do name and shame for what y'all feel are 'scams', why don't you begin a 3rd party website? GGG won't be able to do anything about that.
As an added bonus, get the google ads rolling and make a mint. :) |

Well some people wanted PvP in the game... this is it.
Or you can consider it gambling. Mabye there is a unique strongbox behind the wall, maybe not. :P When night falls

I think GGG should allow us to link the unique strong box to fix scamming issues.
i.e allow us to "press ctrl + alt and click strong box" to link in chat |

I asked my group to make a sub on reddit to name and shame scammers right and my ''leader'' simply said nobody should have that power.
I simply said just get 5 of us to judge people if GGG won't protect us why doesn't the community like ourselves do it and then we argued for about an hour or two before we logged into Diablo and he said ''Too much work no reward'' =3 so much for that. Dys an sohm

If GGG started banning scammers, the scammers would simply team up to get people banned. It would be a game for them. They'd enjoy it. They'd find some way to get players to commit what ever GGG considered ban worthy and laugh at them when they got banned for it. Or they'd fabricate "evidence" of someone scamming and GGG would ban an innocent player.
GGG has chosen to stay out of it. Wise. Blizzard chose to accept the word of players an people abused the hell out of them. |

" They didn't stay out of it, they do the opposite and actively protect scammers. Scamming is fucking rampant now. Strongbox scams, item swap scams, rota scams, breachlord/shaper/guardian/atziri scams, un-id scams, master crafting service scams. GGG's protection of scammers has created the most toxic community ever: deleting name/shame, deleting negative vouches in vouch threads, muting people for announcing scammers in global/trade 820, changing the name of scammers. If GGG wants a hands off approach by all means take a hands off approach and let the community police itself. The current policy of actively protecting scammers is probably the most asinine approach to take. The fear of false name/shame or scammers banding together to mass report people? hogwash. Investigate and penalize/ban players for false reports and you won't get them. Never underestimate what the mod community can do for PoE if you sell an offline client. if clear proof can be provided, it's not name and shame, it's just shame. d2*cough*sp managed to do a decent job of locking bad boys, hard to think it would be much more difficult here.
several good points in this thread though. the #1 being GGG should either be 100% involved, or not at all regarding this threads topic. |
