" Still not enough really, Only skimmed this thread but you would have to 6 link at lot of items before your own experiences would give you an accurate idea of how many it truly takes on average. You are lucky and I'm happy for you. IIRC I had 1 at ~500, another at ~150, two that took ~1800 and one that is close to 2000 and still not linked. You are just on the right side of the curve, other people aren't. That's how this kind of stuff works |

Since the OP doesn't seem to get this one simple thing, let me try making it a little simpler:
Even if you had 6-linked 100 items with <10 fusings from the time you started playing until now, it would be too small of a sample size to be able to make any kind of statistical assumptions. You were just lucky, and the average number of fusings required to 6-link is slightly under 1500, hence the reason you have to pay more for the sure thing. It has been stated by GGG themselves. |

" I was never saying "I average about 100 fuse to 6L so that's what the average is", I was saying how someone coming on these forums may get the wrong impression of linking, because the horror stories are prevalent, and people like to vent their frustration more than celebrate their success. E.G. The guy that successfully 6 links makes one post saying "yay", and goes back to playing the game with his sweet new 6L. The guy who fails keeps posting... "omg 1500 fusings down" "fml 3000 fusings blown" "omgwtfbbqsauce 5000 fusings and it still hasn't %$#*&^%*#%$*%$@&" Well, that was the intention anyway, to give others hope to counterbalance all the negative stories. Because hey, if we all just buy everything already 6 linked, who links it in the first place? Many lewt.

" The larger the sample size, the more accurate the prediction. It's not about "making you repeat yourself", it's about the fact that your experiences aren't even a drop in the pond. If you wanted to make any kind of accurate prediction, you would literally need the results of a thousand people trying to 6L an item to make any kind of an actual prediction, which I'm pretty sure GGG used when they came up with the Vorici recipe. I would wager that the actual average is ~1300 fusings.
