So today class I will demonstrate to you how stash tabs are "pay to win".

without a doubt, and without question.

Note class, that i do NOT care that they are pay to win but to address a certain level of lack of knowledge flying around the forums on this issue, it should be addressed.

and since there may be little children present, i will teach you all at the level of an 8 year old.

Well... Joe played the game and found a LOT of people insisting that stash tabs you buy from GGG are NOT pay to win.

A stash tab is what you store items in, gems, random gear you find, whatever.

There are things called RECIPES... can you say RECIPES class?

With recipes you can do things like, create a chaos orb, or an orb of alchemy, or other fine POE items.

Now class, of 8 year olds, i have a simple question for your curious minds...

If there is a recipe like "These recipes require multiple items of the same base item type, normal, magic, rare" and you want them unidentified and 20% quality".... OR 3 x Identified rare items with same name....

to give you nice little alchemy orbs... class of 8 year olds, who do you think will be able to get more alchemy orbs over time?

Joe with 4 tabs? Or an Exalted Supporter with 50 tabs?

Ok last question, if there is a league and some people are racing to advance to highest level faster than others, and someone paid real money $$$ for 50 stash tabs, and he thus could easily store items to get waaaaaay more alchemy orbs than Joe the 4 tab player, would that make The Exalted Supporter a PAY TO WIN player?

stash tabs are pay to win, whether you want to use them for that or not, they are what they are.

THE only pay to win players in POE, besides the RMT illegal people, ARE Stash Tab Owners.

So many people are living in denial nowadays... Not only on this topic but in general.

Crusader Needs to get on probation for once. GGG please ?

inb4 army of supporters defend their 500 tabs (90% of which are empty). Tabs should be a reward for races, achievements and challenges. This would create additional incentive to play this game a different ways, and move the current state of tabs from 100% p2w to where it should be - play to have better play experience.

I doubt that people who have 50 stash tabs bother with these recepies.
One does not become a millionaire by collecting empty beer cans and other junk.

There are enough threads like this.

Btw, you know that GGG funds the game through the players who are willing to pay, right? Either to have those precious extra tabs, or to look fabolous, or whatever they dream of. They pay $ to GGG, and GGG spends $ to pay their employees (they really deserve it after all those years), to fund the servers, to make the game YOU play.



Sorry if the above example is total bullshit. Still stash tabs are probably the best selling MTXs of PoE. They probably make the most money to make the game better. Why would they change that? Would you, if you were Chris?

On a somewhat related note: Challanges that require you to collect stupid amounts of items are fucking bullshit, I'd agree with that. That is totally pay2win.

Edit: Having stash tabs as rewards for challanges/achievements/etc is a great idea. There are people who can't afford it. Even if it seems like a stupidly small amount of money, believe me, there are. They'd rather spend it on a dinner.

Stash tabs are the only one MTX which modifies the gameplay-state of your character on the server.

(extra char slot modify only your account state)

There is enough ridiculously priced MTX's for those who wants and can afford themselves to buy it. There is an supporter pack. So payed stash space isn't the only way devs can sustain this game.
