ES stacking witches are friggin garbage vs armor/evade

Every single thing that touches my char will stun him for 20 seconds because of my low HP pool due to ES stacking.

Geee I wonder why.

The same thing would happen to a toon stacking armor or evasion.

It's not rocket science.
Nothing to see here.

Yeah ok unless you want to go CI(which is godamn awful now) then stacking ES is just a newbie trap into making a gimp char.

Low health + high ES = you get stunned for 5 seconds everytime you get hit, as getting stunned(or shocked/frozen) depends entirely on damage taken vs max health(ES doesn't factor).

There is equipment with improved stun recovery that can get around this.

Flasks of health don't help out energy shield.
Energy shield is useless vs chaos without CI.
Life leeching doesn't work on ES unless you sacrifice points for ghost reaver.

Sacrifice points? You either go Ghost Reaver or you do not, if you plan to go that route and gear accordingly, it works fine. All these work if you make them part of your build. Yes ES is useless against Chaos, hence why CI exists.

I'd rather have just stacked HP and wear as much physical armor as I can, at the very least I would have reliable mitigation and GREATLY increased resistance to any stun/freeze/shock mechanic.

So DO that?? Nobody is forcing you to play how you don't want to play, play how you want.

But final word: ES works just fine.

The evasion character would dodge the occasional blow that would've stun-killed me.

Armor reduces damage which in turn reduces the possibility of getting stunned.

Name ONE advantage of going ES instead of HP

Half of the armor in the game INHERENTLY has ES on it, while HP has to be found as a mod. You really can't compare ES to HP because you don't sacrifice one to go for the other on your gear. ES gear can roll just as much HP as armor and evade gear. ES is more comparable to armor and evade from a gearing perspective. Also the topic of the thread is about comparing ES to armor/evade, so that it was I am doing. HP has its place no matter which of the three inherent armor stats you go for. You can't ignore HP just because ES has similarities. Think of it as a supplement to your health pool, not a replacement for it (except for CI builds)
Don't use some one else build if you don't have a clue how to play it.

Playing POE since 0.9.0

You know theres a node that makes you immune to stuns, right?

ES gives you a natural 50% stun resistance which is comparable to the above. Better in some situations, worse in others.
What about elemenstal resistance? if u get CI u dont need any cos ES does not have any fire/cold etc resistance? lol

ps sorry for bad english

You still need fire/lightning/cold resistance.

ES just makes you ignore chaos at the cost of like 2000 health.

so u trying to say that ES works like HP? if u have more resistance u lose less ES?
