Why I hate flippers...

I hate flippers because they wont buy my shit. I mean i spam for a half hour a day trying to pawn shit off for half the price i see people selling them on poe.xyz.is and yet all that shit is still in my storage. I mean I'm giving 50 to 60% off what the lowest buyout is on poe.xyz.is and yet still no flippers buy my shit.

Which means the economy is faster if people bother to flip items. Which means there are more items to choose from and it takes less time to actually buy an item. Which is good.

No, there are fewer items to choose from at a "fair" price, and at best there are only equal items available overall.

Did you not read my initial post where the guy swore up and down he was a broke noob all while having hundreds of exalts in gear for sale?

It's the lowest level of person in this game, honestly. Zero sense of community or actually helping anyone else.

The sad part is you look at what he is really doing here, just trolling indexing sites and snatching up any semi decent gear they can get at a low price, to re-sell for exalts. It severely hurts newer players by making it nearly impossible for them to find a decent upgrade at a fair price. I mean look at what he was trying to get off of me:

Why does a guy with all of that GG/Legacy need a mediocre dagger, if not to sell it at 10 times what he paid to some noob?

There's nothing wrong with trying to make a profit. He is a scumbag for lying to you, but that's a different story. And I'd buy that dagger for my CoC build if it was in Ambush :/

economy don't need flippers. It work good without them. Prices would be just a bit different.

And buying/selling could be faster if difference between buy and sell price would be smaller

Please read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velocity_of_money

A relevant quote from the article: "If the velocity of money is increasing, then more transactions are occurring between individuals in an economy."

Which means the economy is faster if people bother to flip items. Which means there are more items to choose from and it takes less time to actually buy an item. Which is good.

For the non-flipper player, he needs to take account to the time spent recovering the currency he lost selling/buying from a flipper compared to a non-flipper.

Which means that it is a hard equation to solve.

The fair price is whatever someone is willing to pay for it. Your whole premise is wrong.

Explain to me how a person that takes an item off the market when it was priced low (so that many people had the ability to purchase it), and puts the same market back on at a higher price (less people want to purchase it) -> is benefiting the economy?

Economic theory makes sense if its an open market and 'flippers' are competing against each other opening to keep prices true to the real value. It makes less sense when flippers are hiding behind shady deals and almost begging for items 'because I'm broke' only to resell it at a higher price.

I'm not saying this to be a jerk because I don't always recognize decent gear since I haven't played all builds but I am sure that I would have vendored that dagger.
Standard Forever
I hate all the stores, they flip the items they buy for a much lower price. Assholes.
you people are crazy, I bought a 1980 bluefin 21ft cruiser for 3500$ I later sold it for 8000$

Guess what the guy I bought it from was happy with what HE got and I was happy with what I got.

People need to stop worrying about what everyone else is doing ffs.

I can give you a real example. Yesterday a Dream Fragment dropped for me. I'm going to sell it today. Now imagine there were no flippers, only people who actually need a Dream Fragment would be interested in buying it. It would take much longer to sell it, unless I vastly underprice it. With flippers, I know I can sell it almost instantly just slightly below the average price. With the currency I get from that flipper who bought the ring off of me, I can further participate in the market. Without the flipper, I would sit on my ring for a much longer time and would not be able to take part in the economy, which means some other guy who is selling stuff I might want would have to wait until I finally get the needed currency etc etc.
