100% proof is only possible through technical means (see earlier posts in this thread), and that requires the willingness on GGG's part. In case of this guy, the evidence is so solid that it borders to proof, but since that isn't sufficient apparently, I simply cannot see anyone getting banned for RMTing less obnoxiously, because it's hard to be any less cautious about it. (P. managed it, and even then it took half a year and public pressure.)

100% proof will require willingness not only on GGG part, but also on djsp part. and even that isnt 100% proof to be honest. even same ip addresses dont prove anything. it can be your co-worker or neighbor using the same router.

you want GGG to encourage witch hunts even though no matter what they do RMT will still persist. this will just leave lots of legit players who will be banned pissed off. and RMT people ....wait for it...will still do their thing.

Actually, what *I* want is a shift in game design to make RMTing less attractive and crafting less frustrating. I'd also like to see challenges that can't be completed by RMTing, and those scratched that can be bought (and that make it very tempting).

As for respect, I always only quote what I comment on, not whole posts, which I consider respectful. I didn't deliberate twist what you said and had no intention of being disrespectful. I previously wrote about technical approaches how to go about getting that proof you mention, which is why I keep my response somewhat brief. This thread is going in circles.

In short, I don't care whether or not GGG banishes RMTers. I do, however, wish they made RMTing less rewarding.

Any silly challenges aside, the main drift of RMT is getting into map content, which is supposed to be the fun part of the game, right? Maybe the new content with map-like side areas will cause a shift into the right direction, seeing that the road to end-game will be more pleasant for past cheaters.

Of course some individuals will still RMT. Can't avoid cheating in a game completely.

How do you think the people who Bot/Scam/Hack get the funds to do that all day? Your money isn't magically "floating" around when you RMT, it's going directly into the pocket of someone who 99.9% chance hacked or botted for the stuff you're buying.

8 months and he is still RMTing under his new Standard acc....
I believe the size of the invested support pack plays a big role on RMTing.

There isn't anybody >divine(yeah that's him I talk about) being banned for RMT.

I also read that botters caught botting get unbanned with the excuse:"I wouldn't bot on an account I bought support packs"

There are some banned accounts with double support tags but they got either banned for blatant scamming or credit card problems.


And a really sad part is that if they RMT and their mule account gets caught they get their mule account banned but the main stays unaffected.
How ineffective is that?

Look there are people using the same nick all over the place and even the same PW.
If their RMT Board account is older, permanently active and there is more than enough evidence that it's indeed him, those guys deserve to be banned.

We talk about accounts having a long RMT Board history not just an account popping up with no history.

They could rename old accounts sure. But if they got history you can easily see that quotes show the old Nick.


And you also have to consider how likely certain names are.

A RMT account like Diablo, Fire, Ice, PvP etc. is most likely not the same person because those accounts use common names.

But if somebody got RMT history and names his accounts for example Swordkillah3125 it is very likely.


And if some people who are with almost 100% certainity identified due stupidity create threads like "N this unique o fools gold for challenge" you got only very very few people who are aiming for 8 stars and believe me if you could see the status of certain challenges like "collect all uniques" you could identify even more.


The collect all unique challenges is pointless because it can be RMTed. Map related challenges would be much better like: "Kill dual Orchard boss solo", "kill 2 fleet, Frenzy charge vaals solo in Invasion" etc.

Because there is a SOLO Tag to the challenge they can't RMT it.

Meh, I traded on my main account, because tbh it doesn't really matter, but what I was doing was far less destructive to the economy than the standard RMT'er. (Only reason it could be seen as equally destructive was if I had sat on the fg from the BoR or Thunderfist 5k fg trades long enough and then gotten 15 times the currency out of it later on, but that is generally a 2-3 month process)

Most people trade on their mains when it comes to D2JSP

Edit: Btw i did buy ggg points and support the game as well, So I guess I technically wasted money on GGG, but it happens

Edit: Btw just in case some people haven't seen it before, here's the message you receive when trying to log into a banned account for RMT

Account is banned: After investigation we have banned your account for breaking the Path of Exile TOU regarding real money trading.

Getting to map content is easy. If you are rmting just to start maps then lol.

Now I can def see and understand why a high level player In end game maps getting raped by rng rmting.

Plus if you have half a brain no way to prove it.
