What is up with Item Quantity gem? Is it bye-bye?
" Dude that was not the issue discussed I believe. What people are complaining about is that everyone is playing builds with DPS so high that they can afford to remove one support gem and replace it with item quantity gem. Since they only gain and not lose with that gem and that being the only measure to obtain wealth lategame, everyone is doing that same build. GGG is now acting to improve build diversity in this game by simply removing it. |

" It is NOT getting removed, it is just getting really really expensive for players that would like to use it. I have 11 IIQ gems in my stash, and maybe 50+ items with IIR and IIQ on em... I am just getting tired of the legacy crap going through this game. It's a disaster. I thought they learned from open beta to release... well, this time when they do the new round of "balancing" (legacy unique items), it is going to hurt them. |

Everyone who is crying to have IIQ/IIR removed from the game ASSUMES GGG will buff drop rates once they do so. Removing IIQ/IIR from gear/gems is turning the game into a game that you make very few decisions in. That's pretty lame.
Everyone wants to pack on their best gear so they risk very little in order to get the best drops. This translates into little choice in which stat to look for in gear. |

" I'm not for or against removing it, just go the whole way if they decide to would be my stance. I.e. No legacy items, gems, nothing. That said, it's funny you post what you do; I see this, but in exact reverse. As in my previous post in this thread, I make very few decisions, because MF > All. That's a truth. I'd like to wear my 'Bones of Ullr', but will NEVER wear them, because I have boots with 100% MF. This also translates into zero choices for gear, in exactly the same fashion, in reverse. This is also what everyone does, so the proof is already there that it's quite true. For me, it would be little about risk for better items, more I'd just like to use boots that suit my build, over those with MF. They have a dedicated summoner unique boot, but I never ever, ever in a million years wear it. Next char? I already know the items I want; - 2 Andvarius. - 1 Eye of Chayula/Rare MF amu - 1 Aursize Gauntlet - 1 Peregrine helm OR 1 Goldrim OR 1 Rat's Nest - 1 Wondertrap OR 1 Sundance Boots - 1 Perandus belt - 1 Wheel of the Stormsail - 1 Divination Distillate Wanna know what I want for the other build after that? - 2 Andvarius. - 1 Eye of Chayula/Rare MF amu - 1 Aursize Gauntlet - 1 Peregrine helm OR 1 Goldrim OR 1 Rat's Nest - 1 Wondertrap OR 1 Sundance Boots - 1 Perandus belt - 1 Wheel of the Stormsail - 1 Divination Distillate Pete and repeat go into a bar, Pete leaves, who's left? I think though, I might like to try a whirlwind, or Cyclone Scion though, I think I'll switch up the 2 Andvarius with 2 Heup's of all, and use that Reapers Pursuit axe linked with the IIR in it for even more. If pre-map side/corrupted areas give IIQ as map quality does currently, that's a pretty good reason to go ahead with a near complete removal of gear based IIQ.

" I'm guessing you're a softcore player? Cuz using all those uniques will get you killed since you'll have pretty much no resists or life. And I think you're mistaken what playing games is about. It's not accumulating wealth, it's about having fun, and playing with that gear is not fun, period. The only build you'll be able to use that gear on is summoner(which is one of the most boring builds imho) or play nothing but support in groups, which is even more boring. So what if other people play it? At least you'll have fun with a real build. You can reach 200 rarity on any build if you really try, and while that's not even a third of the items you'll get with full mf-gear it's still plenty enough to get you uniques at a steady pace and loads of rares with the added bonus that you won't fall asleep and you'll even be able to play solo. With my build I'd be able to switch out both my rings for Anvarius and get me an extra 130 rarity, but it would cost me my haste(for purity) and a bunch of dps so I won't do it. Why? Cuz it's less fun. IGN Hardcore: Muppman

" Summoner is actually my favorite to play. 2 curses, 1 totem, self-cast, bone offering + flesh offering, desecrating, much more to it than any other build tbh. People only assume it's simple. There's actually more to do than most builds. I see ST Scions, they press one button. I see ground slammers, they press one button... etc. I think summoner gets a really bad rap. Over half the 'builds' I see are nothing but 1 skill spam. I actually think quite the reverse, 90% of builds are one skill brainless builds. It's not to accumulate wealth, well, in the sense you're probably thinking. I play mostly self-found solo, or with one friend that plays. It's so I can actually do stuff myself, even vs RNG odds. Then to facilitate other builds, etc. It's not to get a massive pool of junk in my stash, or hoard up 500 exalted orbs if that's your thought. Who is ready for moor legacy again... it is coming. We got new skills in patches, but everything that is endgame gear has been nerfed... never buffed, and no new endgame unique items. (would they get nerfed too)

" So because you are bad at building character builds those who are good at it and have power to spare on lost item slots should be punished? Guess what? Even if they removed MF you still wouldn't catch up with people who are good at this game, they would change over to regular gear and kill things more than twice as fast as you do and get more than twice the loot...the same as they do now. How about as an alternative to punishing people who know how to play by changing game features that you can't figure out how to work around instead you learn how to play. Keep PoE2 Difficult.
