Sometimes going that direction can end up making the game too easy for even the casual player. They find what they want, say the game is too easy and it is now boring and quits.

Yes the only other option is to literally rain uniques from the sky and drown all of Wraeclast in bronze lettering.

I enjoy the game this way. I dont wear alt gear, and thats your preference. Hell, I dont even worry about IIQ/IIR when I grind out levels and do maps. Drops will come eventually.

If you dont like grinding, then why play a grinder game made by a company called Grinding Gears?

I like diablo 2. And even though it's damn near perfection, it does mean there is an ability to enjoy grinding present. But GGG is missing the ball between work and reward so massively, people literally quit the game out of anger and frustration, rather than having experienced all of the content.

That's not a good game, that's potentially a good game with a lot of pointless barriers to keep everybody away from the good shit.

You're just wasting your breath man, the people around here will defend every awful aspect of this game to the bitter end. No matter how many times people post the same complaints here, all you get are the same fanboy responses about how everything is fine and you should gtfo. GGG could come through, nerf every build into the ground, cut the drop rates by 1000%, and make "crafting" even more awful, and most of these people would thank them for it and call you names for being upset about it. Somewhere along the line, its like everyone forgot what arpgs are (or at least were) about, finding awesome loot and feeling powerful.

That's not to say its all bad, PoE is really a very good game at its core, but as you astutely pointed out there are just so many needless barriers to enjoying it. I feel bad for all the people who post here out of sheer desperation, because they badly want to enjoy this game, but they're just tired of getting kicked in the teeth at every turn. Then they post something here and just get told to fuck off and go play something else.

well same here.. but the good thing about poe is.. wait some months and the funs back.. just for the sake of killing lots of shit ...

i also lost fun-- 2 months later it was fun again.. since all the changes and updates all the time..

im using a LS block build wich is perfected and still fun for me.. tried other stuff but it all ends in a LS build ;) with BM...

right now i gave up leveling.. but it was so sick fun to level a scion to the end with a freind of mine.. team-rocket!! ;)) .. i also have super fun to help others and do easy stuff and helpem level.. makes more fun than getting one level more in 3weeks 24/7 mapping (well a lil exagerated but it takes eons at level 88)

Just quit and go find another game. This isnt serious business. Its a game. Its not living thing and its not your family member. You are free to get bored. And free to quit. But just quit please. Because nobody in here cares about your feelings.

The real fun dungeons like the unique maps are rare as hell and trying to perfect my build (get the right gear/perfect my build) pretty much depends on luck to drop the right uniques which Im not a fan of. Seeing the same unique drop every time or a crappy one really does get depressing when you've done it enough.

A lot of builds I want require specific items so making a new char is out of the question. And it sucks how you pretty much have to play with your MF gear most of the time, its like.. when do I actually even equip my real attack gear set?


And im not even going to start on crafting and fusing and perfecting gear, not remotely rich enough to even attempt, better off just selling everything. I hate merchanting but it almost feels like this game requires you to do so (without a good merchanting system) since you're probably never going to find the items you want through drop.

Make up a new build. Try to perfect the build.

I just need a break from the grinding. Its funny how I got so many flames, and ppl think im QQ'ing but honestly I don't even hate the game, infact I still like it. Just wanted to express my feeling on why i'm getting bored/need to take a break.

I guess the best way to put it is how like a few people said there are "barriers". It makes it harder to fully enjoy I guess. I envy those people who can do the same thing over and over all day and acquire a bunch of orbs. I can only do that for a few hours and thats really my limit. Farming vaal/piety/god gets old eventually.

Maybe im just not a lottery guy. I enjoy acquiring gear/items throughout my journey of leveling more and having new maps/content/story.

I see grinding more for the best items, something that is not a necessity but something that is top tier. Unfortunately many builds require certain gear to be "viable". Poor mans version is not always fun either.


When I play games usually I have set goals. They include exploring all the builds i like (my most fav thing to do), then its usually getting to high / max level, then getting good/best gear, and then lastly master the character (if pvp and also get gear appearence wise).

With poe I feel like I cannot even accomplish my very first priority which is explore all the builds I want.

The thing is if they removed those barriers you'd just be bored again in another week. Games get boring after a while. specially a game like this were most people will sink in over 100 hours before they get bored and rage quit on the forums(not you your post was quite rageless).

This is normal but some people want something that will entertain them for years and when it doesn't they forget the 100s of hours of fun they previously had and all the sudden nothing in the game is redeemable(typical mmo player i guess)

I haven't played PoE in at least a month with all the Christmas sales and shit. I have been playing other games(really into saints row 4 at the moment, fun game) but I will be back when that arpg itch starts back up and there will be lots of new skill gems and gears for me to have fun with all over again.

Seriously though... What happened to unique drops? Back in anarchy I dropped so much good shit.. Idk if its because of no quantity gem or what, but I havent dropped shit all league... Its really depressing when you play soo much each day and drop nothing... The whole point of fun for this game is dropping awesome items, and now that I dont, its getting very boring, fast.. Please do something.. Im not asking for uniques to drop in my lap, but when Ive dropped 2 soul takers, 2 voltaxics, a bunch of rainbowstrides and BoRs in anarchy, and then drop nothing in domination, something is up....
