Albino Rhoa Feathers!!

To OP,

If you claim the recipe makes alot of wealth in a short period of time. Then it doesn't make sense to me that you would be trying to sell it to make currency. Especially if you can make alot of currency from it like you claim. Sounds like a scam.

and it was not welcomed by everyone either, again you are viewing my complaint in terms of positive and negative impacts , when what i have the problem with is that it has an impact.

there is a difference ,

i dont care if it was positive , i dont care if it was negative . what i care about is that it had an impact , and the way in which it was introduced was handled rather laxly .

to use an annology,

i dont care if rocking the boat causes the fisherman to fall into the water , or a fish to jump into his lap , i find the act of rocking the boat with no warning to be incredibility annoying .

I see the point you are trying to make, but your point really doesn't hold any water unless the 'impact' was negative, which it was not universally negative, it was positive for some (I would say a majority) and negative for some others.

I fail to see the issue here.

but we just established that the 20% formula did have both a positive AND negative impact depending on who you asked

you argue the gcp was declining in value, but that does not mean its value had already settled , normally then people who cared would have time to off load their gcp investments before losses were significant.

but by introducing the 20% recipe ggg robbed those people of their chance to recoup the inevitable losses that would have gradually happened.

they artificially , prematurely and with almost no warning crashed the value of the gcp before people had the chance to react and adapt.
it is all about timing.

I would hardly call 1 chaos difference a "crash".

I think you may be remembering too far back when GCP's were really up there in price, but the fact of the matter is when the GCP recipe came to light, GCPs, at that time were going for around 3 chaos. They now go for around 2. That is hardly a 'crash' and them getting to the 2 chaos level was nearing very soon regardless.

But on the other hand, I would say there was FAR more people interested in 20% gems then there were GCP hoarders. So when 20% gems went from 4-5 exalts to 1 exalt, the whole exchange benefited a much larger portion of people then it hurt.

Either way it's water under the bridge now, so no need to worry about it too much, but you guys making it out to be like it was some sort of great tragedy, when for a larger majority of people it was a good thing, and in the long run didn't have any 'impact' on the economy.
you cant really prove that. as the proof you would need to illustrate your point would be

if ggg didn't release the recipe and if the gcp was at 2 chaos as of today.

we knew it was going down , but it could have leveled off at 2.5 chaos , it could have gone back up
we simply don't know

1 chaos may seem small , but that is a 33 % drop. losing 33% value of 1 gcp is nothing ,
losing 33% value of 100 gcp pretty substantial .

regardless it was merely to illustrate a point . the point being that introducing recipes that would add or effect highly desired items without care can cause repercussions , good or bad .

So.. once a recipe.is found, it has a limited lifetime

Ok,why no1 then publish results of old recepies, since they dont work anymore....

Once you see one recipe, the others are easier to figure out. The fact that the third recipe is race only stymied a lot of the usual feather crafters.

But Chris said info on the feathers will be given before the next patch...?

He did indeed :-)

Most likely this will be info on the old recipes, so people have a better chance at finding future recipes. The second recipe was discovered fairly quickly by players that knew the first one, but otherwise almost unused. It might be that GGG felt people were becoming discouraged.

And?

You are acting as if the GCP changing in demand and 'value' was some sort of tragedy.

It was far from it, in fact it was better for everyone for many reasons, but just to name a few:

1. 20% gems were hard to come by and/or massively overpriced, now they are more accessible to people and fairly priced.

2. Gcp 'value' stabilized to a fair rate in which they are actually worthwhile to use them. That's right, orbs actually getting used for their intended purpose instead of just stockpiled. The 'value of GCp's were already on a rapid decline before the recipe was even figured out because literally NO ONE used GCP's on gems, they were just stockpiled for trading, thus the supply only grew and grew, thus lowering their value as supply exceeded demand.

The GCP recipe was not detrimental to anything as you are making it out to be, it was in fact a good thing, both for the people and the economy, get over it.

You just gave an excellent summation of exactly why they didn't need to make the change. If the supply of a commodity is already building and the value going down, there is no reason to artificially lower the price of that commodity - the free market is already doing it.

Hoarding. If players stopped crafting with exalts, we would I likely see an exalt recipe within a month. The game is meant to be played and GGG crafting is a big part of the game. As crafting is carefully expanded, the RNG aspects will be less exasperating and more of a "how can I best use what I have found."

Much desync.
Such rewarding.
Wow.
According to forum mods "sandwich" is considered an offensive word. Who knew?
I see prices of Pier maps are starting to go up, I guess you guys have finally started figuring this all out. In any case, I'm still buying them all day, offering 2 chaos per pier.
