Anyone else getting tired of all the mandatory defense stacking?

yeah, and some people want evasion, some people want energy shield, some people want health, some people want armor, some people want block, some people want extra endurance charges, some people want energy shield to use as an offensive stat through EB

you see where im going?

But isn't the problem that most of those things can't be found on chest armor for instance? Which means that you will end up with only 3 choices, es,armor, evasion. All of them with defensive stat+defesnive stat % increase+tri res+life. The only real difference is that es don't want the life. If offensive stats, block and other useful stuff were possible it would be much more diverse. Atm the stats are pretty much boring and has the same problems as D3.
in d3, the best item for every slot, on every fucking build is EXACTLY the same

here we have options to choose from ES, armor, evasion and various hybrid combinations. all of these defensive stats provide different types of defense. then there are a vast number of unique items you can use instead, that provides both offensive stats and unique defensive stats (like that 40% phys to lightning chest for example). theres plenty of diversity, you just refuse to see it because the game aint what you want it to be

That shit ain't necessary. Rock endgame maps with 5k armor. 2400 hp.

You again? You claimed you could run 75 map with 5k armor and 2400 life, and I called you a liar back then. 2400 life can not survive half the one shots game will throw on you. I take 4k damage with 77 res from some casters in endgame maps, and bear traps alone hit easy over 2,5k. I wont even go to what Brutus types do.

Game difficulty is based on a single thing: more damage. As long as game can not offer more difficult content without increasing damage; people will have to increase their max life/ES/res to beat the game. That simple.

Are you implying that not at least half the players in PoE would use the chest in the OP, given the option to?
this has nothing to do with diversity in gear, it is because at least half of the players in poe lack imagination, copy paste builds and cant come up with interesting builds that use other items

You know, that reminds me of something.

Diablo 3 has 3 core stats; strength, dexterity, and intelligence. Depending on what class you are, you want one of those three.

Path of Exile has 3 core armor types; armor, evasion, and energy shield. Depending on what spec you are, you want one of those three. Pick two if you've got Iron Reflexes.

except that:

armor is not useless for an evasion character

armor is not useless for an es character

evasion is not useless for an armor character

evasion is not useless for and es character

es is not useless for an armor character

es is not useless for an evasion character

EB characters want hybrid es/armor or ev

meanwhile, in d3 a fat dex roll on an item means the item is completely useless to anybody except dex characters

you cant seriously compare the extremly one dimensional gearing process in d3 with what we have here, thats is just plain wrong
Chest dont have any offensive stats, so obviously all rare chests look the same because some stats simply are superior to others.

The problem is that if they implement attackspeed or whatnot for chests people will bitch around them being even harder to craft. Its hard, really hard.

Dexterity is undesirable for a strength character in D3, just like how ES is undesirable for an armor character in PoE.

Would you seriously waste an item's budget on ES when you've got 250% increased armor multipliers through passives?

heard about aegis aurora?

seriously, if you build your character to specificly focus on armor, then armor would most likely be your best bet. however this is not the issue, there are plenty of different routes to take beside 250% inc armor. thing is that many builds are significantly harder to pull of compared to your standard hp/armor stack build, and the marigins are thinner. this does not mean that the diversity doesnt exist
