Anyone else getting tired of all the mandatory defense stacking?

whats funny is poe players love to make fun of d3 for having cookie cutter stats

but PoE is the exact same shit. Sure there might be a few uniques with cool effects but 95% of the good armor is the same shit.

exactly, if defense wasnt mandatory the diversity would be non existant. people just have to realize that builds with 0 life nodes are not viable, and they are not supposed to be viable

Diversity would be non-existent? You realize that there are different types of damage, right?

Physical damage is useful for some, elemental weapon damage is useful for others, some people need spell damage, other people need crit chance.

What does EVERYONE want more of? Resistances and AR/EV/ES.

there are plenty of options. just because most of you people are unable to navigate through the complexity of the metagame and therefore chooses a generic build with obvious gear choices doesnt mean the diversity isnt there

It's just a problem with HC or Nemesis itself...Everyone who plays in the league wants to keep their character so before you can do damage you must have high hp max res blah blah blah, doesn't matter what build you have if you can't have enough hp nodes or shield nodes (CI is crap now anyways so it's back to path of the HP nodes) you're going to get stomped as you progress through the game. It's just hard to itemize when you're in Nemesis and every item once you hit high level you would want high armor + hp + high res. And because people play safe in Nemesis it's always back to Catacombs farming for maps which is tedious. Outside of hardcore aside you can pretty much build what you want although you would have a lot of trouble surviving vs Dominus.

But isn't the problem that most of those things can't be found on chest armor for instance? Which means that you will end up with only 3 choices, es,armor, evasion. All of them with defensive stat+defesnive stat % increase+tri res+life. The only real difference is that es don't want the life. If offensive stats, block and other useful stuff were possible it would be much more diverse. Atm the stats are pretty much boring and has the same problems as D3.

Are you implying that not at least half the players in PoE would use the chest in the OP, given the option to?
